Overview
Position Overview: We are seeking a highly skilled Controls Project Manager to join our team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in managing controls projects and overseeing the controls department. This role requires exceptional leadership abilities, technical expertise in controls systems, and a proven track record of successfully delivering projects on time and within budget. The Controls Project Manager will be responsible for leading a team of controls techs, coordinating project activities, and ensuring the successful execution of controls projects from inception to completion.
Key Responsibilities:
Project Management:
Plan, execute, and oversee controls projects from initiation to closure, ensuring adherence to project scope, schedule, and budget.
Develop project plans, schedules, and budgets in collaboration with sales team.
Identify project risks and develop mitigation strategies to ensure successful project delivery.
Monitor project progress, track milestones, and provide regular updates to customers.
Team Leadership:
Lead and mentor a team of controls techs, providing guidance and support to ensure project success.
Foster a collaborative and high-performance work environment within the controls department.
Delegate tasks effectively, prioritize workload, and ensure the team's productivity and efficiency.
Controls Systems Expertise:
Utilize expert knowledge of controls systems and technologies to provide technical guidance and support to the team.
Review and approve controls system designs, ensuring compliance with project requirements and industry standards.
Troubleshoot complex controls issues and provide solutions to resolve them in a timely manner.
Customer Management:
Act as the primary point of contact for including clients, project sponsors, and internal teams.
Establish and maintain strong relationships with Customers, ensuring their needs and expectations are met throughout the project lifecycle.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to coordinate project activities and resolve any conflicts or issues that may arise.
Quality Assurance and Compliance:
Implement quality assurance processes to ensure controls systems meet project specifications and regulatory requirements.
Conduct regular reviews and audits of controls projects to assess compliance with quality standards and best practices.
Implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance controls project delivery processes and outcomes.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Computer Science, or related field. Master's degree preferred.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in controls project management or a related role.
Proven track record of successfully managing controls projects from initiation to closure.
Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and inspire team members.
Expertise in controls systems design, programming, and troubleshooting.
Excellent communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills.
Proficiency in project management tools and software.
Relevant certifications such as PMP (Project Management Professional) or PE (Professional Engineer) are a plus
