We currently have an opportunity for an Environmental Health & Safety Specialist to join our team located in Appleton, WI.

Your Role:

The Environmental Health & Safety Specialist will perform as an effective facilitator to influence development of a proactive approach to health and environmental issues. The principal challenges include assuring that sound Environmental and Health Management systems are in place; anticipating, recognizing, evaluating, and controlling health hazards; providing input into problem-solving and implementation relative to those hazards; and monitoring and continually improving the performance of Health Management Systems. You will have the opportunity to:

  • Maintain updated OSHA and EPA required written programs and develop/conduct training as necessary under the direction of the EHS Manager.

  • Coordinate Industrial Hygiene, hearing, and respirator fit testing and First Aid, CPR, and AED training.

  • Maintain/update the plant’s Safety Data Sheet database and ensure compliance with the Hazard Communication Standard/GHS.

  • Drive the development and implementation of Environmental, Health, and Safety policies, procedures, and programs.

  • Develop and deploy policies, procedures, and programs to support best-practice and identify best-practices with the Reynold’s system.

  • Provide communication and training to plant management, establish and maintain communications, reporting, assessments, training programs, and guidance.

  • Work with the Corporate EHS departments and provide prioritized direction and technical expertise to the engineering organizations or contractors in implementing Environmental, Health, and Safety projects.

We need you to have:

  • BA/BS degree in Occupational Safety & Health, Environmental Engineering, or technical discipline or related field.

  • 2+ years of progressive and related professional health and safety experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment.

  • Proficient in MS Office.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including presentation skills and the ability to communicate and influence at all levels within the organization.

  • Self-directed with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple accountabilities and multiple internal customers.

  • Strong analytical skills as well as organizational skills.

  • Solid project management capabilities with the ability to organize and manage multiple projects simultaneously from origin through execution.

  • Well-developed leadership and motivational skills with proven ability to influence and motivate others to quickly achieve results.

  • Ability to work a flexible schedule during key business deadlines.

  • Must be team oriented with the ability to work on high collaboration and performance teams.

Icing on the cake:

  • Certifications in Health& Safety.

  • MBA or Masters level degree.

  • Environmental experience.
