Shire Financial Analyst - Tech Ops in Bannockburn, Illinois

This position is responsible for supporting financial reporting and analysis for the Global Technical Operations Supply Chain organization. Role is primarily responsible for functional reporting, inventory, and decision support. Key job responsibilities include:

  • Responsible for day-to-day monthly inventory and Supply Chain functional reporting activities including variance analysis and HC analysis

  • Partner with the Integration team to ensure that Supply Chain results are accurately reflected by supporting system design and maintenance

  • Assist in the preparation and consolidation of budgets, long range plans, and latest views (forecasts) to support the timelines communicated by Corporate Finance. This includes the oversight of the process and coordination/consolidation of global locations for Supply Chain

  • Work with Supply Chain business partners to understand budget/forecast requirements and provide overview and recommendations as necessary. Drive behavior around financial responsibility across the organization

  • Prepare journal entries and account reconciliations

  • Support periodic internal and external audit requirements. Document and monitor internal controls

  • Responsible for continuous improvement of month end reporting processes

  • Ad hoc reporting to analyze transactional details and research variance drivers

  • Ability to generate ideas, develops alternatives, and drive implementation of that decision

  • Partner globally with Global Finance and Operations team members to drive initiatives focused on inventory priorities across all countries and regions for all of Supply Chain

Education and Experience Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting (or country equivalent)

  • Demonstration of key finance competencies with 1 to 3 years of relevant experience with financial planning and reporting

  • Strong business acumen and the ability to manage multiple projects

  • Self-starter with strong analytical skills and decision-making capabilities

  • Ability to effectively influence and drive consensus across global cross functional teams and the ability to interact with all levels of management

  • Strong negotiation, interpersonal communication, collaboration, and presentation skills

  • Advanced knowledge of PC Applications: Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint along with a working knowledge of SAP and Hyperion

  • Ability to generate ideas, develop alternatives, rapidly decide upon best course of action and drive implementation of that decision

  • Owns career and is accountable for managing own development
