Shire Global External Manufacturing Finance Lead (Associate Director) in Bannockburn, Illinois

Global External Manufacturing Associate Director position is a key contributor in the Shire Tech Ops Finance team. This position involves leadership over decision support, cost of sales P&L analysis, inventory control and reporting, and business partnering. Key job responsibilities include:

  • Lead the planning and reporting activities and provide monthly consolidated results for Global External Manufacturing product P&Ls and inventory management for the Small Molecule, Biologics and Plasma Operation Units. This includes managing and developing a team of employees.

  • Focus on refining global process standardization, automation, and improved decision support. Such as making recommendations for enhancement existing processes, and developing financial models and business case analysis used in supporting key decisions.

  • Lead the budgeting, quarterly forecasting and long range planning exercises to support timelines communicated by Global Tech Ops Finance. Working closely with business partners to understand budget/ forecast requirements and provide overview and recommendations as necessary.

  • Partner globally with Shire Finance Teams and Tech Ops Leadership by providing outstanding decision support and accounting / controlling leadership for the organization. Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance and eight or more years of relevant experience

  • MBA and CPA is a plus

  • Experience managing Global teams and engaging with Global business partners

  • Strong business acumen and ability to manage multiple projects.

  • Strong analytical and presentation skills with proven decision-making capabilities

  • Knowledge of SOx controls and GAAP accounting principles especially manufacturing accounting

  • Ability to effectively influence and drive consensus across Global cross functional teams and can interact with all levels of management

  • Strong negotiation, interpersonal communication, collaboration, and presentation skills.

  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (Excel, PowerPoint)

  • Experience with SAP and Hyperion Financial Manager (HFM) is a strong plus
