Shire Sr Sales Contracts Analyst in Bannockburn, Illinois

The Senior Sales Contracts Analyst is a strong functional lead for the Commercial Contracts Center of Excellence organization supporting the biological distributor channel of delivery. The position is responsible for the drafting and administration of biological distributor agreements for the US business. These contracts are valued at roughly $1 billion annually in sales for the hematology, immunology, and oncology specialty pharmacy products. The senior contract analyst will operate in cross-functional teams with finance, legal and government pricing teams to ensure alignment. Additionally, the senior contract analyst will provide analysis as needed as related to contracts and calculations related to pricing and review of incentive calculations and payments. The senior contract analyst will act as a guide for all field sales teams he/she works with to ensure all contracting guidelines are adhered to and program requirements are met in order to earn incentives.

Contract Administration 35%

  • Manage all pricing and ensure all price notifications are aligned for all IDN contracts in assigned region

  • Manage all membership movement as it relates to administrative fee payments and pricing disputes

  • Partner with finance to resolve all administrative fee disputes as it relates to GPO membership discrepancies

  • Implement all pricing strategies and executed contracts/amendments for assigned region/accounts

  • Includes pricing system maintenance/set up, compliance related tier-pricing changes and partnering with government pricing team to ensure accurate bundle set up

  • Partner with finance, credit and collections and customer service to resolve pricing issues and customer billing disputes

Reporting/Analysis 20%

  • Create ad hoc analysis for field sales teams for customer purchase pattern history – commercial, 340B or both

  • Create ad hoc compliance reporting showing customer purchase pattern information for the institutional sales teams

  • Research compliance issues quarterly as needed by partnering with channel operations and customer master

Contract Drafting 35%

  • Negotiate contract language for direct agreements within legal and departmental guidelines

  • Draft template language for Letters of Participation/Letters of Commitment

  • Draft incentive program language and contract language for Group Purchasing Organizations

  • Draft business exceptions for all channels from initial request through approval and to resulting contract amendment or notification

  • Collaborate with legal on all redline negotiations and templated language updates and changes

Training and Projects 10%

  • Provide new hire training for various systems – pricing system, JD Edwards and BIO 360

  • Provide new hire training on channel contracting strategies and processes

  • Act as subject matter expert in channels supported and provide cross-functional training on contract operations and contract language interpretation

  • Lead various projects in area(s) of expertise with cross-functional groups resulting in department efficiencies or improved data accuracy

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience required;

  • 3-5years’ experience in a similar role is required

  • Prior experience working with pharmaceutical sales or contracting is preferred
