Salary: Salary depends on experience; $85,000 to DOE

Location: Boise, Idaho. As Idaho’s capital, Boise is a growing city of approximately 226,570 and serves as headquarters for several major national and international corporations. Boise offers a rich variety of both cultural and recreational opportunities. Idaho’s world-famous fly-fishing, skiing, kayaking and hiking are all within easy access. Housing costs are moderate.

Primary Duties: The successful applicant for the Deputy Attorney General position will provide general counsel services to state agencies and elected officials on a variety of legal issues including statutory interpretation, contracts and procurement, employment issues, and public records requests. The role may also involve occasionally representing agencies in administrative hearings. The State General Counsel Division represents over 60 state agency clients, which provides interesting legal work and the ability to expand one’s legal skills.

Minimum Qualifications Duties: Active Idaho State Bar license is required.

Preferred Qualifications: Experience with Idaho administrative law, employment law, education law, and contract drafting is preferred.
