Philips Director of Legal Compliance in Cambridge, Massachusetts

Director of Legal Compliance (Cambridge, MA):

Your role will be to apply the elements of an effective compliance program with the end goal of influencing the broader organizations’ daily activities to be in alignment with The Philips Ethics and Business Conduct Program. This role will report to the Head of Legal Compliance for North America.

Your role:

  • Implement the compliance program and initiatives cascaded globally by Group Legal Compliance, which may require localization.

  • Facilitate the implementation of programs outlined by the Legal Compliance domain leads, and be the escalation point in the U.S. for issues related to antitrust, export control, ABAC, and Healthcare Compliance.

  • Develop the annual compliance work plan for the US to address the seven pillars of the OIG guidelines which impacts the Businesses operating within the US.

  • Perform an annual risk assessment, and collaborate with the appropriate Business, Country, or Functional leads to implement actions to mitigate identified risks.

  • Assess the effectiveness of the compliance programs and introduce countermeasures to address weaknesses and gaps.

  • Accountable for developing and executing an annual auditing and monitoring workplan.

  • Represent the interests of the US in global legal compliance initiatives, for instance the development of tools to make compliance with policies more effective or tailor the specific risks for the US.

  • Work with appropriate business personnel and Compliance Officers to document current processes, align best practices, and liaise with monitoring team to perform transaction testing and data analytics.

You're the right fit if:

  • You’ve acquired 8+ years of Healthcare Compliance experience in a medical device, Pharmaceutical or Health technology setting.

  • In depth experience in Healthcare Fraud and Abuse and other US laws and regulations pertaining to interaction with HCPs.

  • You have a Juris Doctor or equivalent advanced degree and member of a state bar. Preferred

  • Strong verbal, written, presentation, and other communication skills with an ability to effectively convey complex information to diverse audiences.

  • Proven ability to prioritize and manage a wide range of ethics and compliance projects and cases simultaneously, meeting deadlines and maintaining accuracy.

  • Comfortable working in a matrix organization consisting of attorneys, paralegals, compliance professionals, and business leaders, collaborating effectively across departments and levels.
