The Transportation Department is seeking a Full Time Mechanic II. This position will remain open until filled.
The Full Time Mechanic II works under the direction of the Lead Mechanic and the Transportation Supervisor, the Mechanic has primary responsibility for minor and major repair and maintenance of all District vehicles. The Mechanic overhauls, repairs, and maintains all vehicles.
*Tests computerized engine control, electronic fuel injection, and chassis electrical systems. *
*Repairs and replaces computerized engine control, electronic fuel injection, and chassis electrical systems. *
*Overhauls, repairs, and installs engine and electronic transmission systems. *
*Conducts state safety inspections on vehicles. *
*Repairs and replaces air and hydraulic brake systems. *
*Removes, repairs, and replaces automatic and manual car and truck transmissions and drive train systems. *
*Repairs and replaces suspension, exhaust, and other systems on all vehicles. *
*Performs complete overhaul of all light and heavy engines. *
*Maintains records on vehicle service and repair. *
*Comply with District Policy and Shop Safety Standards. *
Cleans tools and working area.
Must have basic computer knowledge, be familiar with Google docs and check email frequently. Must be willing to learn and use all computer systems and software as needed.
Regular, reliable, predictable attendance and job performance is required
Drive School Bus as occasion necessitates
