Senior General Ledger Accountant
A client of ours is looking for a Senior General Ledger Accountant for a contract role. This role is ideal for an experienced accountant with a strong background in general accounting, NetSuite proficiency, and expertise in month-end close processes. As a Senior GL Accountant, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of our financial data while supporting the overall success of the finance department.
Responsibilities of Senior General Ledger Accountant
Manage day-to-day general ledger accounting activities, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and variance analysis.
Utilize NetSuite to record financial transactions, maintain accurate account balances, and generate relevant financial reports.
Assist in the month-end close process, including preparation of financial statements and supporting schedules.
Conduct thorough reviews of financial data to identify discrepancies and ensure compliance with GAAP standards.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve accounting issues and provide financial insights to support decision-making.
Support internal and external audit processes by providing timely and accurate documentation as needed.
Assist in the development and implementation of accounting policies, procedures, and controls to enhance efficiency and mitigate risk.
Stay updated on industry trends and best practices in accounting and finance to drive continuous improvement initiatives.
Requirements
Skills/Qualifications of Senior General Ledger Accountant
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA or CPA candidate preferred.
5+years’ experience in general accounting roles, with a focus on GL accounting and month-end close processes.
Proficiency in NetSuite is required; experience with other ERP systems is a plus.
Strong understanding of GAAP principles and financial reporting requirements.
Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data and identify trends.
Detail-oriented mindset with a commitment to accuracy and data integrity.
Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to collaborate with stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
Proven ability to adapt to changing priorities and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
