Texas Health Action Manager of Data and Decision Support in Dallas, Texas

As THA expands its impact, we seek a highly skilled and experienced healthcare data, reporting, and decision support manager responsible for leading the organization's data analytics and reporting efforts to support data-driven decision-making across all departments. Reporting to the Chief Financial & Administrative Officer, this role will work closely with leadership, clinical and program teams, administrative areas, and external stakeholders to understand their data needs, develop robust analytics and reporting solutions, prepare meaningful analyses detailing agency impact, and lead all data governance activities. This role will foster a data-driven culture by promoting the organization's effective use of data and partnering closely with agency leadership to deliver actionable insights that drive strategic planning and operational excellence.

This is a full-time, exempt position. Remote work is allowed, but the incumbent must reside in the state of Texas and will occasionally be required to attend meetings and perform certain portions of essential duties on-site at our administrative headquarters in Austin, Texas. Key Responsibilities:

Data Analytics and Reporting:

  • Maintain a comprehensive data analytics and reporting infrastructure to support the organization's decision-making processes.

  • Collaborate with stakeholders to identify their data needs, define key performance indicators (KPIs), and design relevant reports and dashboards.

  • Conduct advanced data analysis, modeling, and visualization to uncover insights and trends that inform strategic decisions.

  • ⁠Prepare detailed data analyses and/or reports of agency performance and impact for funders, leadership, and other stakeholders.

Data Management and Governance:

  • Oversee the organization's data management practices, including data collection, storage, integration, and accessibility.

  • Develop a centralized data repository, integrating data from various sources (e.g., electronic health records, financial systems, case management program databases).

  • Define data standardization and mapping strategies to ensure consistent data definitions and formats across the organization.

  • Implement robust data governance policies and processes to ensure data integrity, accuracy, security, and compliance with relevant regulations (e.g., HIPAA, HITECH).

Training and Collaboration:

  • Provide staff members with training and support on data analytics tools, reporting capabilities, and data-driven decision-making processes.

  • Serve as a subject matter expert and consultant to stakeholders on data-related matters, offering guidance and recommendations.

  • Collaborate closely with leadership, programs and clinical staff, human resources, finance, and other stakeholders to understand their data needs and translate them into actionable insights.

  • Present data analyses and recommendations for leadership and stakeholders, communicating complex information clearly and concisely.

Project Management and Continuous Improvement:

  • Lead and manage data analytics projects, ensuring timely delivery, efficient resource utilization, and adherence to project objectives and milestones.

  • Continuously evaluate and improve data analytics processes, tools, and methodologies to enhance the organization's data-driven decision-making capabilities.

  • Stay up-to-date with the latest developments in data analytics, business intelligence, and healthcare industry trends, and incorporate relevant advancements into the organization's practices.

  • Establish and maintain partnerships with external data providers, vendors, and industry experts to stay informed about best practices and emerging trends in healthcare data analytics.

Compensation:

Based on job duties and requirements, this position is placed in pay grade 48 with a full-time, annual salary range of $85,000 to $110,000 plus a performance incentive structure. The actual salary will be based on the candidate's qualifications and experience.

Requirements

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in health informatics, data science, information science, or a related quantitative field/discipline.

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in data analytics, business intelligence, or related roles.

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in the healthcare or human services sector.

  • Proven experience leading data analytics initiatives and delivering actionable insights to drive strategic decision-making.

  • Experience combining data from disparate systems into a single source of truth for reporting and analysis.

Skills & Abilities

  • Proficiency in data analytics tools (e.g., SQL, Python, R, Tableau, Power BI) and statistical analysis techniques.

  • Strong understanding of data management principles, data governance, and data integration methodologies.

  • Experience with data visualization techniques and creating compelling reports and dashboards.

  • Knowledge of healthcare data standards, regulations, and privacy laws (e.g., HIPAA, HITECH)

  • Excellent communication and presentation abilities, with the ability to convey complex data insights to diverse audiences.

  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to think critically and identify patterns and trends in data.

  • Collaborative and team-oriented, with the ability to work effectively with stakeholders across multiple departments and disciplines.

  • Ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and manage multiple projects simultaneously.

  • Commitment to continuous learning and staying up-to-date with emerging trends and best practices in data analytics and healthcare.
