Shire Associate Director - Treasury in Dublin, Ireland

This is a broad role within the global Shire Treasury Operations team. Based in Dublin the team are responsible for cash, liquidity and FX management for 100+ entities in over 50 jurisdictions.

Reporting to the Head of Treasury Operations and responsible for a team of 3 the Associate Director will be primarily tasked with providing Treasury expertise and guidance to group entities globally. This is a role that works closely with Tax, Legal, IT, Controllers and Corporate Services and will be the key Treasury contact on a variety of group-wide projects and initiatives as well as taking ownership for certain Treasury specific projects.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

  • Establish strong relationship with group entities and liaise closely to understand cash flows, FX, banking considerations in order to provide better visibility and management

  • Resolving complex Treasury issues in a variety of jurisdictions proposing solutions that are aligned to Treasury objectives and policies

  • Ownership and management of treasury related projects with a key objective presently to centralize all Treasury operations activity into Dublin

  • Act as Treasury business partner on a number of global projects and maintain strong interactions with other Corporate functions and regional teams

  • Support integration activities from a Treasury perspective including legal entity integrations and a number of system integrations

  • Oversee the intercompany funding activities and provide recommendations on new financing requirements and structures

  • Identify, analyze and implement process improvements and integrate any changes into existing structures

  • Preparation and development of management reports

  • Responsible for ensuring subsidiary compliance with Treasury policies to ensure effective global controls and Sox compliance

  • People management and team development

  • Honours Business/Finance Graduate

  • Treasury professional qualification (i.e. AMCT/MCT qualified or country equivalent)

  • Proven extensive Treasury experience in a multinational organisation

  • Advanced IT skills with an emphasis on Excel and Powerpoint

  • Prior SAP experience preferred but not essential
