The Prep Cook is responsible for preparing food and serving customers in alignment with all applicable federal, state, and local standards, guidelines, and regulations. This role is crucial in maintaining the quality and safety of food while ensuring efficient service delivery in a fast-paced kitchen environment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Preparation and Cooking
Obtain the daily production schedule and preparation requirements from the Chef to plan the cooking process.
Prepare ingredients and cook items according to the production sheets, adhering to specified quantities and recipes to maintain consistency and quality.
Taste completed meals to ensure they meet quality standards before they are served.
Quality and Standards Compliance
Utilize approved recipes and follow production standards to ensure proper quality, serving temperatures, and standard portion control.
Comply with all federal, state, and local health and sanitation regulations to uphold the department's sanitation procedures and ensure a safe dining environment.
Operational Support
Assist in resolving any customer concerns with professionalism and tact.
Perform additional duties as assigned which may include supporting other areas of the kitchen as needed
Description
Equipment and Cleanliness
Operate kitchen equipment according to department procedures and ensure it is cleaned after each use to maintain hygiene and efficiency.
Adhere to sanitation regulations by properly storing, labeling, and dating all food items, following the facility’s policies and health codes.
Food Safety and Documentation
Follow Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point (HACCP) guidelines to manage food safety throughout the cooking and storage processes.
Complete all required documentation, including daily production worksheets, waste log sheets, and other reports to track food usage and wastage accurately.
Customer Service
Take orders directly from customers and quickly prepare foods that require short preparation times, ensuring prompt service.
Serve customers efficiently and courteously, maintaining a positive interaction at steam tables, grills, and other service stations.
