STATUS: Full-time, Exempt

DEPARTMENT: Institutional Research - Org. Quality & Effectiveness

LOCATION: Grand Rapids - Lettinga and/or remote

REPORTS TO: VP of Institutional Research

You will coordinate and assist with Business Intelligence initiatives for University leadership by querying university data systems to create summary reports for use in operations, planning, and decision-making at Davenport University. These responsibilities are performed in an ethical manner consistent with the University's mission, vision, and values which include diversity, equity and inclusion.

We will count on you to:

• Develop and maintain queries, reports, spreadsheets and data extracts for our customers using the data warehouse and BI tools. • Develop dashboards based upon user requirements, key performance indicators and the University's strategic plan. • Assess stakeholders' business processes and reporting needs. Provide data analysis as required to aid in decision-making. • Provide support and training to end users regarding data warehouse/BI related problems and issues. • Initiates processes and documentation of University reports, develops procedures to ensure security and integrity of data. • Keep current with the latest technology and regularly attend technical training in order to maintain technical expertise. • Work with Focus files, SQL Server, and other data sources into a seamless web-based reporting system.

What you need to have:

• Bachelor's degree required; preferably in information technology/computer science. • 4 years of programming and database usage required. • Demonstrated ability to think logically, analyze data, and process detailed information. • Demonstrated ability to effectively plan, develop goals, meet deadlines, and accomplish goals while prioritizing workloads. • Detail-oriented, with strong organizational, analytical and planning skills. • Demonstrated ability to handle multiple projects and assignments. • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team. • Demonstrated ability to work accurately and effectively with computerized data systems.
