Shire Demand Planning Lead in Istanbul (Baxalta), Turkey
The Demand Planning Lead will manage the day to day Supply Chain Operations for the cluster or region, reporting to the Regional / Cluster Supply Chain Leader.
This individual will be responsible for communicating relevant Supply and Demand information to SC in a timely manner and liaising appropriately with QA, Regulatory Affairs, Commercial and other relevant functions.
The Demand Planning Lead will maintain supply of Shire products, manage the 3PL activities and ensure customer service is provided for these products. This individual is also responsible for integrating the Supply Chain launch of new products in the cluster.
The Demand Planning Lead is responsible for managing the targeted inventory levels in the cluster and ensure the importation process is in line with the supply plans.
This individual will be responsible for the timely completion of goals and objectives. The individual will be responsible for ensuring all relevant Supply Chain systems are appropriately developed, maintained and improved, including managing demand forecasting, supply of product to the markets, recalls, management of customers, customer complaints, order processing, inventory management & reconciliation, and day to day management of 3PL & customs agents.
40% - Working with Regional/Cluster Supply Chain to ensure reliable Demand Forecast for Cluster in support of S&OP process.
40% - Working with Regional/Cluster Supply Chain to ensure uninterrupted supply of product to Cluster
10% - Manage launch of new products within Cluster
10% - Assemble/lead cross functional teams/sub-teams to resolve systemic and systematic network issues across various areas of technical and life cycle complexity that ultimately support product in the market where poor decisions impact brand availability and Shire sales.
Education & Experience Requirements
Essential: A Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain or equivalent.
5 - 10 years of progressive experience in various supply chain management roles within the Pharmaceutical or Healtcare industries.
Desired: Knowledge of ERP systems including packages relating to supply chain mgmt.
Ability to think “outside the box” and be well versed in the global distribution
Effective written and oral communication skills are required to facilitate information flow across internal / external supply chain partners and senior leadership.
Knowledge of different aspects of regulatory compliance that impact a pharmaceutical supply chain. This can include but is not limited to GxP considerations and controlled substance regulations.
Must be able to demonstrate leadership ability in driving change within an organization. This could include systems, processes or tools to drive success
Able to recognize the importance of meeting business needs and balance cost, quality and customer service

Ability to manage the day to day Supply Chain Operations for the Region/Cluster; and meet simultaneously, the Region/Cluster, Business Unit, Commercial and Tech Ops goals. Specific challenges and complexities revolve around balancing service, schedule compliance, productivity / cost objectives due to constraints, QA issues, change controls, projects, etc.
Balance the requirements of Compliance (Corporate, Financial, Quality, Taxation and Global Trade) to achieve a sustainable and scalable operation.
Systems, policies and procedure design in light of resources and agreements across numerous functions.

Internal and External Contacts
There is significant contact with many different functions within Shire. The Cluster Operations Lead will be required to manage several different requirements at one given time and will specifically have to align on critical timelines with Shire IT, Finance and other functional Tech Ops leads to ensure business activities are being managed accordingly
Externally, significant interaction will occur with Shire employed IT consultants, 3Pls and other Service Suppliers. The management of external contacts will require strong influential skills due to a strong need for all external contacts to be fully engaged and bought into the process.
Excellent communication skills including presenting to individuals at different seniority levels are a must. The Cluster Operations Lead will be asked to prepare and present solutions to all contacts and senior management team members.
- This position will include international travel on a semi-frequent basis to assure the systems and processes are integrated or implemented.
