ROLL FORMING CORPORATION Production Planner in Jeffersonville, Indiana

What Youll Be Doing:

Plan and establish production schedules for a wide variety of manufacturing departments, involving diversified parts, assemblies or tooling to conform to requirements of the master production schedule. Allocate to proper work center. Release orders to individual departments. Monitor material inventories, track progress of production and review factors that affect schedules. Make necessary modifications to schedules, issuing orders to the appropriate department due to revisions.

Essential Duties and Responsibilitiesinclude the following.Others as assigned.

  • Analyze customer requirements and plan material and resources accordingly to insure on-time delivery.
  • Prepare production orders for manufacturing to include process and coordinate customer orders and coordinate customer shipments and freight.
  • Prepare and maintain production schedule daily.
  • Facilitate weekly production scheduling meeting.
  • Effectively communicate schedule requirements, status, and changes within internal departments.
  • Oversee that Manufacturing is meeting the planned schedule and communicate schedule changes with Customer Service and Management.
  • Communicate quality and on-time delivery issues accordingly as it effects schedule.
  • Initiate use of ERP (Global Shop) software to plan/schedule production. Maintain accurate customer and part records.
  • Provide monthly and quarter sales forecast information for staff analysis and planning.
  • Effective and timely communication with customers as required.
  • Participate in Continuous Improvement Program and other RFC process, system, and training efforts.
  • Coordinate warehouse preparation, scanning, auditing and reconciliation of annual physical inventory.

Schedule:This position is eligible for overtime and will primarily workeight or more hours per day, five days per week based on business needs. Primary schedule will be 8AM - 5:00 PM or Monday to Friday or similar but flexible as needed.

Physical DemandsThe employee is regularly required to sit and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision and the ability to adjust focus.

Work EnvironmentThe performance of the position requires exposure to typical office areas and manufacturing areas that require the use of personal protective equipment such as steel toed shoes, safety glasses with side shields and hearing protection. The employee is exposed to moving mechanical parts. Temperature of work area may be affected by outside temperatures and machining. The employee is occasionally exposed to odors, airborne particles, and vibration. The noise level in the office area is usually quiet.


Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree (or equivalent in experience would be 4-10 years related business experience)
  • 1-2 years of related experience - customer facing, EDI, hands-on forecasting and MRP/ERP planning.
  • Strong Computer skills including Microsoft office products and ERP software. Ability to learn/use manufacturing software Global Shop Solutions.
  • Willingness to work onsite and live within a commutable distance.
  • US Person as defined by ITAR/EAR(U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident or any individual who is granted status as a protected person under 8 U.S.C.)

Preferred

  • Bachelor's degree
  • Five or more years experience in: c mbined supply chain/purchasing, technical and/or commercial planning/scheduling experience; manufacturing experience using lean manufacturing concepts
  • Certification in Production and Inventory Management (CPIM) or Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP).
  • Global Shop Solutions ERP experience
