Shire HCP Engagements Manager in Lexington, Massachusetts

The HCP Engagement Manager oversees the day-to-day operation for the review, approval and contracting and management of individual service providers used by the R&D organization to support defined business objectives

• Oversee the operational management of a component of the R&D HCP Engagement Program

• Lead GMA project development/harmonization, implementation, modifications and optimization, including alignment of processes and systems to the requirements of GMA, Legal and Compliance partners

• Manage system vendors and address GMA team requirements

• Identify areas for process improvement, propose changes, and participate in implementation as appropriate

• Manages, develops and trains staff in the department ensuring employee conformance to established policies and practices.

Manage HCP engagement process to support the needs of the Shire R&D organization:

  • Manage the end-to-end process for HCP Engagements, including the selection, evaluation, contracting, proof of service, payment activities and reconciliation to close out activity

  • Manage review (in-plan or ad hoc engagement) background checks and Fair Market Value) and approval (Medical Director and Compliance acceptance) of selected HCPs

  • Ensure timely contracting and negotiation with selected HCPs

  • Ensure contract terms are met and payments are sent accordingly

  • Secure required documentation throughout the lifecycle of the end-to-end engagement process

  • Support the team in audits of the R&D HCP engagement management system and process

Manage and maintain system for HCPs qualifications for engagements with Shire (R&D Select tool)

  • Manage internal and external stakeholder expectations and inquiries in person, via program inbox and phone

  • Provide regular updates to internal stakeholders regarding HCP Engagements status

  • Update R&D Select program to keep qualified vendors up to date

  • Collect feedback from organization to help align appropriate HCPs with engagements

Support continuous improvement for HCP management, identify areas for process improvement, propose changes, and participate in implementation as appropriate

  • Collaborate with multiple stakeholders including compliance business partners to define and improve system processes and communications

  • Stay informed of applicable governmental compliance laws and industry standards for engaging and managing HCP service providers

  • Track activity progress against proposed timelines

  • Support vendor management addressing program requirements (e.g. potential projects related to working with IT, system vendor on system upgrade and integration)

  • Assist with development and bi-annual review of R&D Annual Plan to accommodate prioritized needs of the organization
