Shire Maintenance Supervisor in Lexington, Massachusetts
Responsible for directing the maintenance team and conducts performance reviews, provide coaching and development of the direct reports.
Responsible for efficient and reliable operations of the process and utility equipment and systems in a compliant and safe manner.
Facilitates execution and ensures effectiveness of the Preventative and Corrective Maintenance of Process, Utility and other Plant equipment and systems.
Represent Facilities in site project, process improvement and maintenance planning activities.
Technical leadership and professional support for facility and maintenance operations teams.
The continuous improvement and development of maintenance practices and procedures.
Ensuring and enforcing the safe performance of all repair, maintenance, and project activities in accordance with Shire policies.
Directs Maintenance staff in day-to-day activities. Ensures safe work environment. Responsible for optimal utilization of resources and work time.
Ensures compliance and quality of work and provides technical expertise. Provide support to quality systems, process improvements and project implementation. Conducts review of cGMP documentation pertaining to the department.
Conducts performance reviews and assessments for the direct reports and provide coaching and development of the staff.
Plans and coordinates major maintenance activities including annual Plant Shutdowns.
Works with manufacturing supervisors to schedule equipment release and acceptance according to current maintenance procedures and practices. Ensures equipment availability to meet manufacturing needs
Education & Experience Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent.
Demonstrated abilities and/or experience of training in repair, operation, and troubleshooting of electromechanical process equipment and utility systems.
Experience with control systems, PLC’s, SCADA, and BMS systems preferred but not required.
Extensive relevant experience in Bio-pharmaceutical, petrochemical, packaging, and power generation industries in a leadership and/or a supervisory capacity.
The ability to work at all Shire HGT site locations as needed.
Incumbent will be required to carry a cellular phone at all times and be on call as required to support operations and participate in off-hour emergency coverage as needed.
Should be able to climb a ladder, reach, bend, and lift loads up to 50lbs.
Should be medically cleared to wear respiratory protections.
Valid Driver’s license in Mass.
