Shire Principal Automation Engineer in Lexington, Massachusetts

Technical leadership 40%

  • Represents PD automation interests for key strategic initiatives and partners with management on the integration of programs into daily requirements for automation engineers.

  • Point of contact for IT for automation and technology planning

  • Keep abreast of advancement in new technologies

  • Facilitate technical assessments for automation system decisions for new technologies

  • Facilitates integrating technical programs into the automation engineering function.

Project Support 30%

  • Lead project teams for strategic / complex projects impacting the automation function of PDTS.

  • Provide automation services or oversight for external engineering resources providing automation services for projects.

  • Coordinate with Automation services firms to perform technical studies

  • Develop engineering project documentation

  • May support OE projects focused on business processes

Engineering procedures and standards 20%

  • Develop automation standard practices that will result in consistent, reproducible documents site-to-site

  • Creates templates to be used at all sites for URS/FS/DDS

  • Identifies equipment specific best practices and performs gap analysis between Shire and best practice

  • Develop / Improve Commissioning Guidelines and Templates

Long range planning 10%

  • Represents PD automation during strategic technology and project planning activities.
