Position Title:

U.S. Commercial Learning and Development Business Partner- Ophthalmics

Primary Duties

The primary focus of the Commercial L&D Business Partner role is to serve as the primary point of contact for all training needs for the sales force and to develop and deliver sales training initiatives to meat those needs. The Commercial L&D Business Partner will have a designated BU/Product. This particular role is focused on primarily supporting the Ophthalmics team and will be responsible for the following:

  • Develops strategic partnerships with key BU stakeholders (leadership, sales force, marketing, Compliance, CMLR) and serves as primary point of contact for the specified sales force training needs

  • Provide strategic insights to sales leadership and marketing teams regarding sales force training and development needs

  • Develops and delivers brand/ promotional training, new hire training, and advanced skill training for sales team members

  • Manages submission and approval process through Commercial Medical Legal and Regulatory, as required

  • In conjunction withU.S Commercial L&D Lead, develops overarching training strategies to be supported through training material development and roll-out

  • Vendor management from obtaining proposals from suppliers, to selecting partners to ongoing management of vendors and agencies to designing training materials.

  • Creates and delivers selling skills training based on the principles of the Agility customer engagement model.

  • Serves as lead for sales force training meetings (PO.A/NSM/SLM).

  • Promotes a culture of compliance with all L&D activities

  • Leads new hire training for assigned franchise/brands

  • Collaborates with Leadership Training to pull-through sales force training initiatives with firstline managers

  • Responsible for the direct management of L&D Managers supporting Ophthalmics Franchise.

  • Tracks and manages spend on Commercial-specific training events and projects

  • Conducts field visits with sales force to provide coaching and assess training needsResponsibilities30%

  • Assessment of Commercial needs and the design, implementation,delivery, and evaluation of programs that facilitate the professional development and continuous learning of sales force team members. Create and deliver selling skills training based on the principles of the Agility customer engagement framework. Provide coaching and feedback to L&D managers, sales specialists and field sales trainers. Minimum of 5+ years outside sales or marketing experience. Minimum of 2+ years of managementexperience and/or 2+ years of Commercial L&D experience.
