PAY RANGE

The Target Pay Range for this position is $178,900-$218,400 annually. The full Pay Range is $138,800-$258,500 annually. At BECU, compensation decisions are determined using factors such as relevant job-related skills, experience, and education or training. Should an offer for employment be made, we will consider individual qualifications. In addition to your salary, compensation incentives are available for the hired applicant. Incentives are performance based and targets vary by role.

Employees have access to disability and AD&D insurance. We also offer health care and dependent care flexible spending accounts, as well as health savings accounts, to eligible employees. Employees are able to enroll in our company’s 401k plan and employer-funded retirement plan. Newly hired employees accrue 6.16 hours of paid time off (PTO) on a per pay period basis based on hours worked (up to a maximum of 160 PTO hours per year) and receive ten paid holidays throughout the calendar year. WHAT YOU’LL DO:

  • Create Market Leading Solutions: Combine technical mastery with a solid understanding of strategic business drivers to design and develop innovative solutions that enhance the BECU member experience.

  • Engage with Business Unit Managers: Work directly with business unit managers to build prototypes and solutions, utilizing technical expertise and business acumen to solve strategic business challenges.

  • Drive Technical Innovation: Contribute thought leadership to drive innovation across the organization and coordinate technical strategies that differentiate BECU in the market.

  • Mentor and Provide Technical Guidance: Provide mentoring and technical guidance at all levels of the organization, facilitating information sharing and acting as a consultant and liaison for delivery teams.

  • Contribute to Code Quality and Extensibility: Contribute to BECU code quality, code reuse, and code extensibility, and define coding standards across the enterprise.

  • Stay Current with Emerging Technologies: Stay current with emerging technologies and drive the adoption of relevant technologies across the enterprise.

  • Facilitate Information Sharing: Act as a consultant and liaison for delivery teams with technical expertise to solve highly complex defects and issues.

  • Additional Duties: Perform additional duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in technical or business discipline, or equivalent work or education-related experience required.

  • Minimum 10 years of experience designing software and writing production code in a team environment required.

  • Minimum seven years of experience with Secure Development best practices required.

  • Proven ability to learn new/emerging technologies and deliver highly scalable solutions in a polyglot environment required.

  • Experience with public cloud (Azure/AWS/Google Cloud) technologies required.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated expertise in .NET, C#, node.js, and modern JavaScript Frameworks in TypeScript or Javascript, or Python.

  • High-level expertise in two or more of the following domains: server-side web dev, client-side web dev, REST/web services, large scale data analytics using Machine Learning frameworks, networking and service mesh.

  • Expertise in SOLID design principles, Object-Oriented Programming and Design, and SOA patterns and distributed systems design.

  • Strong understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and Agile methodologies.

  • Experience with Core Banking systems strongly preferred.
