Core Responsibilities:

  • Commercial Business Partner to the Market Group (MG) Heads: Collaborate closely with the MG Heads on the commercial agenda and act as partner for commercial topics, providing channel agnostic input and insights maximising RCD (Regional Commercial Development) subject matter expertise and best processes /case examples from across the globe.

  • Lead and Govern Commercial Processes in MG: Lead and drive Commercial Development agenda in the MG, own the ICP and tracking thereof, own Portfolio deployment, revenue management, execution of channel strategy (incl. course correction), and all other key RCD owned processes.

  • Provide MG perspective into global programs: MG RCD Head needs to have in-depth understanding of the different BUs within the region as well as key cross-functional fields relevant for the commercial success of a MG to maximise this to shape and drive global programs and initiatives.

  • Voice of Customers: Consistently be the voice of the customer within the MG, using deep commercial understanding and methodologies from across the MG in MG Leadership Team. Own MG Customer Pulse.

  • Partner with GCD (Global Commercial Development) to deliver global process improvements and ensure digital products are embedded to drive these. Act as a sponsor and co-owner for digital transformation and value harvesting agenda in the MG.

  • Lead the Regional Commercial Development Team: Drive one team spirit and nurture collaboration within the MG and with GCD.

  • Team leadership: Lead a team of 12 subordinates including Channel leads and BU RCD heads. Enable the team to deliver excellent execution of commercial direction and processes.

  • Drive channel/ sales capability across the MG working closely with GMs and GCD, deploy tools/ trainings where necessary.

Lead the Regional Commercial Development function across APAC which is responsible for developing and governing the APAC channel strategy, driving commercial planning processes, defining the direction for trade investments, driving the portfolio differentiation approach, managing key regional accounts, deploying sales tools and supporting sales capability development.

Work closely with the Global Commercial Development team to translate global priorities, direction and processes regionally and locally, ensuring flexibility in adapting to regional and local requirements.

This role is part of APAC LT and reports to SVP & GM APAC Market Group. This role plays an integral role within the MG to define & influence key sales strategies including the integrated commercial planning process and governance across the region.

This role also is part of Global CIF or equivalent forum, playing a key role in connecting APAC to Global strategies & plans and also influencing the global plans and processes.

Do you have what it takes?

  • Qualification in a business or commercial related field or equivalent working experience would be preferred.

  • 12 – 15 years' working experience and a strong track record on business performance and leadership in a similar position or from within Sales & Marketing.

  • Experience from working internationally or with international companies/brands. Work experience within Asia is a key advantage.

  • Strong partner management and communication skills, with the ability to influence cross-functionally.

  • Strong experience in senior leadership management (especially GMs) and collaboration with regional functions.

  • Experience in driving processes & tools within sales.

  • Past experience with P&L responsibility and longer-term planning (able to work with a 3-year planning horizon).

  • Previous leadership experience and track record with building teams and capabilities.

  • Strong ability to work within ambiguity and in changing environment.

  • Able to work according to the LEGO Brand Framework and values.

  • Must have a strong passion for working cross-functionally (sales, marketing, operation and leadership).

  • Strong experience to work collaboratively in matrix organizations, role modeling processes and governance.

  • Drive to push for newness and creativity to keep innovating for growth.

  • Travel extensively within the region.
