Summary This National Guard position is for a HUMAN RESOURCES ASSISTANT (MILITARY), Position Description Number NGD1547000 and is part of Headquarters (HQ), SDANG. This is a permanent Title 32, Dual-Status position. AREAS OF CONSIDERATION: All members of the South Dakota Air National Guard and those eligible to become a member. Responsibilities As a HUMAN RESOURCES ASSISTANT (MILITARY), GS-0203-07, you will: The purpose of this position is to perform clerical and technical work supporting military personnel programs, operations, and functions in the State Air National Guard (ANG) Headquarters. Assignments involve final decisions and recommendations that are of major significance to affected military personnel and their dependents. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications NATIONAL GUARD MEMBERSHIP IS REQUIRED: This is an excepted service position that requires membership in a compatible military assignment in the National Guard. Selectee will be required to wear the military uniform. Acceptance of an excepted service position constitutes concurrence with these requirements as a condition of employment. MILITARY REQUIREMENTS: Selected individual must be assigned to a compatible military position in the following AFSC upon date of hire: AFSC 3F0X1. Military grade inversion within the full-time work force is not permitted. Enlisted service members up to E6 are eligible to apply. GENERAL EXPERIENCE: Progressively responsible clerical, office, or other work that indicates ability to acquire the particular knowledge and skills needed to perform the duties of the position with experience using computer and automation systems. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Must have 1-year specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade. The applicant's educational-degree study program or military or civilian academic courses may substitute for some specialized experience. Specialized experience may include human resources program's business competencies, familiarity with the subject matter or processes used in human resources programs associated with DoD, U.S. Army, or U.S. Air Force, or similar human resources experience. Knowledge, Skill, and Abilities (KSAs): Applicants are strongly encouraged to submit a separate sheet(s) addressing the Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (KSAs) and how they relate to work experience, education or training. Knowledge of the automated system(s) supporting military personnel programs. Skill to plan, organize work, meet deadlines, gather, analyze and summarize facts, and develop and present findings. Skill to review and maintain military records. Knowledge of military personnel policies, regulations, and procedures and ability to interpret and apply them.
