Monroe 2-Orleans BOCES PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT SPECIALIST (RBERN)-Full-time position, 10 months/yr. (Anticipated) in Spencerport, New York
Responsible for all operations applicable to the RBERN contract including leading professional development activities and facilitation of meetings and technical assistance regarding ELL/MLL programming.
Duties include:
Under the direction of the RBERN coordinator, plan and provide school improvement activities for English language learners (ELLs) in districts and schools under the NYSED accountability system in the MidWest RBERN region.
Provide technical assistance and coaching to educators within the region to matters pertaining to the education of ELLs and Multi-lingual learners (MLLs), which includes but is not limited to state regulations and policies, ENL and Bilingual Education services and programming, New York State Learning standards and state and federal funding requirements..
Design and deliver or facilitate learner-centered training that enhances the instructional skills and competencies of Bilingual, ENL, Content area and classroom teachers and all educators responsible for the achievement of ELLS and MLLS.
Support the activities of the NYSED, OBEWL, as requested.
Perform other related activities, as requested by the coordinator.
Job Qualifications
Bilingual Extension with NYS teaching certification OR NYS TESOL certification AND Master's degree in related field.
Minimum of five years teaching k-12 in Bilingual or ENL programs. Coaching experience in Home Language Arts or ENL is preferred.
