Job Summary: As a Development Events Specialist, you will work with senior development leadership to design development related special events, oversee their planning and execution, and evaluate their effectiveness in order to achieve annual fundraising goals. You will manage a comprehensive donor-centered stewardship program for acknowledging, celebrating, and communicating with donors about the impact of their philanthropic investment in Lutheran Social Service of Minnesota (LSS). You will also assist in the development and writing of marketing materials to support event and stewardship activity. You will work across teams within the development department in order to create memorable, meaningful, and impactful donor experiences that further connect supporters to the mission of LSS and the importance of philanthropy. Qualifications and Requirements: Minimum of three years of experience in events management and donor stewardship. Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience preferred. Work or volunteer experience in a nonprofit fundraising environment; experience with or knowledge of a variety of event and fundraising models and strategies. Exceptional project management skills; ability to handle multiple complex projects at one time. Good planning and execution skills; excellent attention to detail. Collaborative work style and ability to interact with staff at all levels of the organization. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Excellent critical and strategic thinking and execution skills. Experience cultivating and developing positive relations with individuals, organizations, and businesses. Experience working with and leading volunteers and volunteer committees. Computer proficiency; experience with Raiser's Edge beneficial. The ability to make reasoned, well thought out decisions, as well as the ability to think on your feet. Sense of humor and flexibility. Driver's license.
