Summary About the Position: This position is located at the U.S. Army White Sands Missile Range (WSMR), Range Operations Directorate, with a duty location of White Sands, New Mexico. (merit) Responsibilities Serve as Field Operations Branch Chief and Telecommunication Manager, performing the full range of supervisory and nonsupervisory functions. Accomplish work in support of missions and testing through combined technical and administrative direction of others Exercise technical and administrative supervision of a subordinate staff engaged in providing technical support in real-time operation of a technical control center and various related telecommunications systems. Direct the installation, maintenance, mission operation, testing, and electronic circuit performance of a variety of digital and analog telecommunications systems and equipment. Locate and determine the nature and extent of specific malfunctions existing in highly complex digital and analog systems and equipment. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: preparing, evaluating, and troubleshooting telecommunications and information Technology (IT) equipment and systems for testing events by performing operational testing and resolving technical problems. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (NH-02/GS-11). Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted.
