Shire Asc. Director GMA Training (GMA TA Training Lead) in Zug, Switzerland

Primary Duties

  • Collaborate with Global Medical Affairs teams to identify medical training and professional development needs

  • Collaborate with GMA teams to create and implement strategic and in-year tactical Global Medical Training curricula

  • Create disease state and product trainings in conjunction with GMA teams

  • Collaborate with GMA Systems to manage medical training platforms (e.g. distance learning platform, learning management system, live training approaches)

  • Assist in monitoring Global Medical Training performance and implement initiatives to drive organizational excellence

Responsibilities

  • Identify medical training and professional development needs and develop and implement Global Medical Training curriculum

  • In collaboration with the Head of GMA Training work with individual GMA teams and Compliance business partners to identify the medical and professional development needs of field and non-field based medical personnel

  • Create and deploy role based training curriculums

  • Create and implement training programs (both distance- and live trainings) leveraging common and custom platforms as required

  • Collaborate with GMA teams to generate training content

  • Lead and manage training events

  • Monitor and ensure completion of training at predefined levels according to job function with highly coordinated communication with line managers

  • Collaborate with R&D IT and GMA Business Solutions to manage medical training platforms

  • Develop and maintain expertise within Global Medical Training on key platforms

  • Engage with vendors to guide the compliant delivery of vendor services

  • Manage curriculum and training deployment through Learning management platforms

  • Collaborate with Global Commercial Operations to share best practices appropriately

  • Assist in monitoring for appropriate utilization of platforms and implement initiatives to improve quality and efficiency

Education and Experience

  • A Bachelor’s degree in a scientific discipline is required

  • A higher level degree (e.g. MD, MSc, PhD or PharmD) and a specialization or concentration in learning or education is preferred

  • 8 years of experience in the biopharmaceutical industry, preferably within a matrix structure is required

  • 4 years of experience within medical or biopharmaceutical training (industry or vendor) is preferred

  • Experience with learning management systems and distance learning platforms is required

  • Experience in customer-facing roles (e.g. Medical Science Liaison, Product Specialist) is preferred

  • Experience working with vendors and complex projects is required

  • Knowledge of curriculum design, competency-based training and adult learning best practices, legal and regulatory requirements, Codes of Practice, Standard Operating Practices and guidelines
