Shire Compensation Manager, International in Zug, Switzerland

Primary Duties

This position is responsible for consulting with clients, primarily the International Commercial organization in Europe and LATAM, on complex & exceptional compensation needs/issues in their business/country as well as supporting a variety of broader Global/International Total Rewards activities.


  • Partner with HRBPs and the business to understand and support their business objectives by providing analytical support, counselling, and expert compensation advice for their functional areas, working with the Lead Compensation Partner, as appropriate. Primary focus on the International Commercial organization.

  • Participate in broad-based Compensation projects and other Total Rewards initiatives that may require input from regional perspective or support to implement in Europe and LATAM.

  • Support annual compensation process and other total rewards commmunication and education activities.

Education and Experience

  • 5y+ compensation experience in European markets and preferable LATAM.

  • Knowledge and experience with Mercer and WTW pay benchmark and job levelling methodologies.

  • Achievement (or working towards) Global Remuneration Professional (GRP) designation or similar Total Rewards-specific qualification preferred.

  • Work experience in Pharmaceutical / Life Sciences sector preferred.

  • Work experience in a global/matrix working environment (peers of this position are based in US, Switzerland and Singapore) preferred.
