Portfolio Analytics

  • Responsible for periodic portfolio analysis that enable Shire to achieve inline products growth goals, strategic objectives, commercial value, and/or other measures

  • Develop portfolio analysis insights, findings and recommendation presentations, communications and briefings for senior stakeholders and relevant Shire inline products governance bodies

  • Partner with functional stakeholders (e.g. Finance, Franchises, Regions) to obtain data and metrics necessary to perform portfolio analytics

  • Support the resource planning process to ensure specific project/initiatives and investment proposals are aligned to Shire portfolio priorities

  • Develop insights and communication materials for relevant Shire governance bodies ies

  • Help identify resource trade off scenarios and support development for risks and opportunities

  • Ensure portfolio priorities are disseminated and embedded in key enterprise wide processes (e.g. budgeting, brand planning…)

Resource Allocation

  • Implement and lead periodic business case resource planning process by

  • working with franchises, functions and regions to develop business cases proposals and ensuring investment proposals are aligned to Shire portfolio priorities

  • monitoring and tracking business cases resource requests

  • developing insights and communication materials for relevant Shire governance bodies

  • Act as a thought partner with franchises, functions and regional teams to develop business cases, and product investment proposals.

  • Collaborates closely with franchise, functions and regional teams to ensure no duplication of work

Functional Initiatives

  • Partner with other functions on enterprise wide projects (such as evolution of Product Operating Model, Stage Gate Reviews) to ensure Global Commercial Operations views are adequately represented

Work closely with the Head of Portfolio & Resource Allocation to drive additional ad-hoc projects and initiatives which are key to create growth, drive efficiencies, capitalize on market dynamics / differences

Education and Experience Requirements

  • Bachelor Degree or equivalent in Business Administration/or related discipline and/or in Health Sciences

  • MBA/M.Sc./Pharm.D. preferred

  • Recommended 10+ years of experience with: mix of consulting experience in strategy consulting/or healthcare consulting and pharmaceutical or biotech industry

  • Strong analytical skills with proven expertise in dealing with large volume of data, assessing trends and identifying insights

  • Proven strategic problem solving mindset and ability to deliver solutions (ideally in a high growth environment)

  • Track record of strategic and operational planning in a high growth environment

  • Innovative strategic thinker with exceptional process and project management skills

  • Accustomed to managing a diverse and rapidly changing workload, delivering projects across several teams, timelines and within a matrix structure

  • Excellent presentation and communication skills

  • Ability to operate and influence senior stakeholders across functions, franchises and regions (very strong interpersonal skills)

  • Commercially astute, proactive and self-starter

  • International experience is preferred

  • Business development is preferred

The candidate will design and drive portfolio analysis internally or choosing and managing appropriate external business partners for benchmarking; interpreting analysis, identifying insights and developing ecommendations, including presenting findings and strategic recommendations to all levels of management
