Shire Global Brand Lead - HyQvia in Zug, Switzerland

Primary Duties

This role requires an individual who can think strategically and “connect the dots”. Ability to drive strategic projects as well as communicate and influence key stake holders at high levels in the organization. Excellent skills in influencing as well as in line experience are needed, Strategic thinking and creative problem solving are essential for this person to be able to work both inside and outside the organization to effectively be able to show results. The person in the role should have the ability to understand market trends, financial data, and customer needs along with the assessment of competitive intelligence data.

This individual will oversee the CIDP work stream and give commercial input in the CIDP clinical program and ensure that the right decisions are made to make HyQvia in CIDP successful. This Director will also oversee geographic expansion efforts with HyQvia ensuring strategic pull through and launch support efforts from Global to the countries. The Director will lead and execute key strategic projects for the overall IG business that will inform strategic brand plans. Creating a holistic patient journey with deep customer insights will be a core responsibility for this individual. In addition this person will use this foundational knowledge along with Market Research to prepare a comprehensive segmentation solution for the IG portfolio of products to effectively drive top line growth as well as maximize revenue. This person will be a key individual within the team that keeps a pulse on market research and customer insights and ensures that these insights are incorporated into strategic and business plans for HyQvia, Cuvitru and Gammagard/Kioviq.

  • Oversee the leadership of the cross-functional CIDP team with over 10 different functions on the strategic direction HyQvia in CIDP adoption across the globe

  • Lead Geographic Expansion efforts for HyQvia

  • Lead research to discover deep customer insights at critical decision points within the patient journey

  • Develop segmentation pull through messaging and provide simple guidance to countries

  • Lead business plan creation across portfolio

  • Collaborate with countries on co-positioning strategy and ensure pull through

  • Lead Patient Journey Project and coordinate communication to team, cross functional partners and Senior Leadership


  • Oversee the leadership of the cross-functional CIDP Team with over 10 different functions on the strategic direction HyQvia in CIDP adoption across the globe

  • Develop and deliver global HyQvia in CIDP marketing strategies, plans and budget recommendations

  • Lead Patient Journey Project and present results to team and cross functional partners and senior leadership

  • Lead project to understand HyQvia patient experience and drop off points and develop solutions

  • Collaborate with appropriate cross functional teams and countries to assess adherence and compliance and lead development of solutions

  • Ensure deep customer insights are incorporated into branding materials

  • Develop segmentation pull through messaging and provide simple guidance to countries

  • Collaborate with countries on co-positioning strategy and ensure pull through

  • Influence key stakeholders on rational for strategy based on deep customer insights and ensure pull through at country level and cross functional teams

  • Lead HyQvia geographic expansion

  • Lead business plan creation across portfolio

  • Ensure business plan reflects goal of top line growth

  • Ensure business plan incorporates co-positioning strategy

Education and Experience

  • Demonstrated success and outcomes in cross-functional leadership roles in pharmaceutical development and / or commercialization

  • Track record of strong strategic thinking, coupled with effective implementation.

  • Agility to operate in a global environment with a demonstrated knowledge of key markets, in particular US, EU, Japan, LatAm

  • Country level experience in both Europe and the U.S. is a plus. Strong ability to understand both internal and external market environments.

  • Ability to convert strategy to action. Strong skills and knowledge in areas of pricing, reimbursement and creative product/program development.

  • Strong business acumen and proven leadership in driving business objectives in a matrixed environment.

  • Experience in driving differentiation and an expert knowledge of marketing fundamentals

  • Background in strategic planning and business development

  • Proven ability to develop a business case and flexibility to think in different scenarios Proven experience thriving in a fast pace changing environment

  • Ability to manage competing priorities and deliver multiple outputs

  • Ability to select/evaluate talent and mold an effective team

  • MS/BS in science or business required; Advanced degree a plus

  • Eight to twelve years progressive marketing experience with demonstrated record of success in driving new product sales
