Shire Global Commercial Lead in Zug, Switzerland

Primary Duties

Global Commercial Lead will serve as the leader of (Insert Brand/market,etc.), delivering on the therapeutic area responsibilities to transform/elevate standard of care and optimize Brand revenue.

• Will evaluate market environments, collaborate closely with internal and external thought leaders and key customers in identifying unmet needs and translate information into strategies to achieve short-term and long-term franchise objectives.

• Will be responsible for building and aligning the matrixed organization on the Global Brand and Execution Plans, including the tracking of brand KPIs and partnering with global partners to identify and manage to gaps/opportunities.

• Will work closely with Medical Affairs and GVSA to develop vernacular and vision for urgency of clinical and psychological understanding, diagnosis and treatment, and differentiation ensuring a strategically integrated Medical Plan is in place

• Is accountable to senior management for worldwide therapeutic area and commercial activities including developing a deep understanding of complex global market environments, development of new business models and identifying compelling strategic opportunities.

• Will ensure all compliance guidelines are instituted on each material developed and the appropriate process is followed without exception as noted in Shire’s Code of Ethics.

• May lead and coach a team of direct and indirect reports to deliver the full potential of our products and brands to our patients, in a manner consistent with Shire Leadership Behaviors.

• Encourages innovation in Shire’s approach to building the Franchise through collaboration, influence and aspiring big thinking across a virtual team of contributors. This behavior is key to the Role contributing to the development of the Shire talent pipeline.

Responsibilities

• Global Marketing Strategy and Brand Excellence: Develop upstream and therapeutic area global strategic Brand and Execution plan to elevate SoC and optimize Brand revenue; including but not limited to disease awareness, diagnosis, testing, treatment protocols, patient/HCP advocacy and clinical consensus, and execution plans to drive Global P&L optimization, while ensuring that overall budget, milestones, and high performance standards are set and respected

• Cross-functional global collaboration: Lead cross functional project teams and serve as key liaison with global leaders. Create high performing team environment focused on operational excellence to drive Region/Country alignment and consistent implementation of the strategic business plans

• Efficient application of Insights: Leverage a keen understanding of global customer and market dynamics and trends in order to identify unmet needs and strategic opportunities to inform and drive strategic plans

Education and Experience

• Global and Regional/Country marketing experience in developing and launching markets and brands in rare disease.

• Ability to understand Global market trends, financial data, customer needs and assess competitive intelligence data.

• Solid track record in successfully launching products globally and leading projects to successful completion.

• Demonstrated commercial ability and business acumen, including strategic and tactical planning and implementation.

• Ability to convert strategy to actionable tactical plans and develop high performing operational teams.

• Strong scientific acumen and experience in upstream marketing.

• Proven track record of leading global cross-functional teams and driving business objectives in a matrixed environment.

• Demonstrated understanding and skills in the areas of pricing, reimbursement, and creative product/program development to inform and build an optimized Brand Value proposition.

• Excellent senior management communication, influencing, negotiation and cross-functional/country collaboration skills.

• Demonstrated record of success in driving new product sales. Strong background in strategic planning and business development.

• Strong self-awareness and ability to positively lead through change management.

• Minimum 10 years’ experience marketing healthcare products, including at least eight years of management experience. Bachelor’s degree required.
