Shire Value Demonstration & Access (VD & A) Manager Switzerland in Zug, Switzerland

Primary Duties

The VD&A Manager will manage customer relationships and lead portfolio negotiations with key players in the Swiss market access environment (hospital pharmacists, health insurers, etc.). He/she identifies trends, needs and opportunities in patient access and jointly develops solutions with external and internal stakeholders (customers, cross-functional teams) to address these. He/she implements value creating projects and thereby differentiates Shire from competitors and drives/facilitates access to the Shire portfolio. Reporting to the VD&A & PA Lead Switzerland, the candidate must understand the Swiss business and access landscape and standards of care for different focus therapies.

Responsibilities

  • Fosters relationship by regular customer visits (if appropriate together with other team members)

  • Leads/manages development of agreements with key customers (hospital pharmacists, physicians, SGV, SVK, health insurers) in close collaboration with local business needs and global guidance

  • Identifies unmet customer and business needs and opportunities, collaborates with customers and x-functionally with internal colleagues (e.g. Commercial, Access, Regulatory, Medical, Legal etc.) to develop appropriate solutions (e.g. payer agreements) and leads projects to translate these into action

  • Generates market insights, derives implications for Shire portfolio and develops business cases to justify new investments

  • Supports value demonstration and patient access by driving key projects (KVV Art. 71 for individual reimbursement, hospital negotiations/agreements, payer agreements)

  • Tracks implementation, identifies and implements corrective actions as necessary

  • Participates in national events

Education and Experience Requirements

  • University degree required, advanced degree in related field (e.g., MBA, MPH, MPA preferred)

  • 3-5 years of pharmaceutical commercial experience, preferably with experience in a rare disease or specialty product market

  • Min 2 years of field experience in Key Account Management and/or Market Access

  • Business fluency in German and French language required
