Amazon Program Manager, JP Books in 13, Japan

The Japan Books Operations team is seeking a dynamic and organized Program Manager to help us consistently deliver the best-in-class experience for both print and digital publishers. The successful candidate will own multiple programs and initiatives, such as optimizing publisher onboarding, improving self-service tools, identifying publisher pain points, defining best practices, and improving content quality.

The ability to lead projects spanning technical and business teams with a thorough understanding of the technologies, systems, and processes needed to achieve project objectives is critical. This role will be responsible for building relationships with publishers as well as internal stakeholders, such as business owners, product managers, engineering teams, and operations, to drive end-to-end integration of print and digital books content with Amazon systems.

Key job responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and support existing and new initiatives that address publisher needs

  • Build and leverage relationships with publishers, as well as internal teams like Product, Vendor Management, Marketing, Legal, Engineering, and Operations

  • Create, maintain, and disseminate multiple project information to key stakeholders

  • Consistently provide superior support to escalations from CS operations and publishers

  • Drive global standardization of publisher support processes

  • Develop standard operating procedures (SOP) and mechanisms to address recurring issues

  • Leverage new technology and innovation to continuously improve operational excellence (e.g. scalability, efficiency, scope, etc.)

Basic Qualifications

  • 3+ years of program or project management experience

  • 3+ years of working cross functionally with tech and non-tech teams experience

  • 3+ years of defining and implementing process improvement initiatives using data and metrics experience

  • Bachelor's degree

  • Business-level Japanese and English

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience managing external vendor and/or customer relationships

  • Ability to deal with ambiguity and adapt to changes in a fast-paced, international working environment

  • Ability to prioritize critical tasks with a high attention to detail

  • 3+ years of driving end to end delivery, and communicating results to senior leadership experience

  • 3+ years of driving process improvements experience

  • Experience in stakeholder management, dealing with multiple stakeholders at varied levels of the organization

  • Experience identifying and resolving complex issues
