Senior Accountant

  • RBR Technologies is looking for a Senior Accountant that wants to lead the establishment of effective and efficient accounting operations that leverage technology, community best practices, and teamwork to deliver an accounting organization that can scale and grow with this 140 employee company.

    The Senior Accountant will lead all corporate accounting operations to include Financial Reporting (Executive and Program Level), Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, Timekeeping, and Payroll operations. The corporation utilizes UNANET time and accounting platform paired with an iSOLVED HCM system with integrated Payroll processing. The company presently leverages outside Accounting consulting services for financial reporting, tax preparation, and payroll processing (we are looking to insource these services over time). The Senior accountant position would be a direct report to the company's Chief Operating Officer (COO) and will have (1) direct report of a Staff Accountant CPA and a matrixed support role in a HR/Payroll coordinator.

    The Senior Accountant will be responsible for:

  • Preparation of monthly financial package (Balance Sheet, Profit & Loss Statement, etc.) and develop year-end financial statements

  • Lead UNANET Contract, Project, Workflow, and overall configuration to achieve accounting department goals Verification, allocation posting and reconciliation of the accounts payable and accounts receivable.

  • Production of error-free accounting records and presentation of their results

  • Analysis of financial data for preparation of financial records and forecasting of budgets.

  • Mentor Staff Accountant to facilitate growth with company

  • Train/Educate Program Managers to ensure proper cost accounting for labor and expenses.

  • Maintain general ledger as required by the organization.

  • Oversee reoccurring reporting requirements (examples: Monthly Borrowing Base Certificates, Workman's Comp audits, 401k census filings)

  • Interpret financial records as per the requirement and purpose of the management.

  • Perform analysis of financial information and summarization of financial status.

  • Spot errors and provide suggestions on ways on the improve of efficiency and spending.

  • Provide technical support and advice on Management accounting.

  • Review and suggest modifications to the existing accounting system and the procedures already in place for the improvement of the financial sector of the company.

  • Lead budget preparation and the forecasting activities.

  • Develop accounting processes and procedures as needed to improve efficiency and eliminate gaps.

  • Lead Incurred Cost Submission preparation (annually)

  • Ensure systems maintain DCAA compliance throughout all accounting operations. Prepare for and lead company through DCAA system audits.

    REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Minimum of 10 years of accounting experience within Government Contracting CPA Certification

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or degree in a related field combined with relevant accounting experience.

  • Strong Knowledge of DCAA Accounting System requirements

  • Strong knowledge if other Microsoft Office Productivity Applications (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint)

  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel required).

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

  • Proficiency in using automated accounting systems specifically Unanet

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Proactive, adheres to deadlines, responsive to management requirements

  • Extremely detail orientated with strong analytical skills.

  • Good time management and organizational skills.

  • Ability to work both independently and lead accounting operations

  • Ability to be flexible and adjust priorities to meet suspense's

  • Strong understanding of Accounting Principles (GAAP) and government contracting regulations (FAR).

  • Advanced understanding of general and subsidiary ledgers and financial statements.

  • Exhibits strong ethics, positive attitude, and calm demeanor under pressure.
