Sales Analytics Manager, Strategic Accounts

Location – Stamford, CT or New York City

ABOUT THE ROLE

The Sales Analytics Manager, Strategic Accounts will provide analysis, support, and commercial insight to the Strategic Accounts team. They will play a pivotal role in supporting the Vice President of Sales for the Grocery and Mass channels by leveraging data and analytical insights to drive strategic decision-making and sales effectiveness. In addition to providing ongoing support for these channels and customer teams, this role will be instrumental in building the next generation of tools, reports, and capabilities for the broader Strategic Account Team. The ideal candidate will be adept at using Nielsen and IRI data, along with other internal and external data sources, to provide actionable insights, build compelling selling stories, and develop sophisticated Excel reports.

Role and Responsibilities

  • Excel Reporting Tools : Develop and maintain Excel-based tools for the Strategic Accounts team, including Nielsen, PowerBI, Scorecard, and ad-hoc reports. Create visualizations and dashboards to present data in a clear and compelling manner.

  • Analytical Support : Lead analytical work for the Vice President of Grocery and Mass, providing crucial support for these customers.

  • Strategic Partnership : Collaborate with the Commercial Director on ad-hoc projects, reporting, and strategic initiatives for the broader Strategic Accounts team.

  • Trend Analysis : Identify trends and insights through data analysis to support strategic decision-making. Analyze Nielsen and IRI data to identify market trends, sales performance, and competitive landscape.

  • Meeting Preparation : Assist in data preparation and reporting for various meetings, including Customer Meetings, Leadership Team Meetings, Share Reviews, Quarterly BPMs, and Joint Business Planning.

  • Data Management : Manage and administer syndicated data (IRI and Nielsen), developing quality selling stories based on market-level POS analysis and category opportunities. Integrate data from various internal and external sources to create comprehensive sales reports and dashboards.

  • Central Coordination : Streamline practices, tools, resources, and communications among various customer teams.

  • Sales Support : Collaborate with the sales team to build persuasive selling stories and presentations based on data-driven insights.

  • Business Opportunities : Use analysis and insights to identify new business opportunities and present findings and recommendations to key stakeholders.

  • Performance Monitoring : Monitor and assess customer JBP and Diageo performance through regular scorecarding processes.

  • ROI Analysis : Conduct ROI analysis on key sales activities and advise on profitability based on quarterly trade spend and investment effectiveness.

  • Effective Communication : Build positive relationships with customer teams, advanced analytics, category, and commercial teams.

ABOUT YOU

Preferred Experience, Skills and Education Requirements

  • Educational & Professional Background : Bachelor’s degree required. Minimum 5 years Sales and/or Category Management related experience required in Consumer-Packaged Goods or Beverage Alcohol Category. Experience working with third party or complex distribution systems is preferred.

  • Analytical Abilities : Ability to synthesize large amounts of data into actionable insights and strategic recommendations. Strong background in managing and analyzing internal and syndicated data, as well as understanding the dynamics of pricing, margins, investment, and business plan development are critical. Must have experience in market analysis, competitive data, and the application of insights to drive sales performance, with a history of improving reporting processes and procedures.

  • Presentation Skills : Ability to create and deliver compelling selling stories and presentations based on data-driven insights. Skilled in preparing clear and impactful reports for various meetings.

  • Technical Skills : Experience using syndicated data (IRI, Nielsen, Market6, Numerator) systems necessary. Advanced proficiency in Excel is expected. Proficiency in PowerBI preferred. Experience understanding retail replenishment systems and processes strongly preferred.

  • Personal Attributes : Highly self-motivated, organized and collaborative, able to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. Proven success building relationships to successfully influence and negotiate in complex situations.
