MITRE's N211 Army Mission Command Networks department is currently seeking an Electrical Engineering intern. This internship is an exciting role to assist in the development of technical approaches focused on working closely with Army stakeholders to enable Soldiers to successfully operate and exchange critical data in limited, contested, and distributed environments with increasing resiliency and security.

Task and initiatives will focus on delivering transport agnostic capabilities that can leverage all possible communications pathways, satellite orbits, frequency bands and terrestrial communications, with automated Primary, Alternate, Contingency and Emergency (PACE) plan capabilities that are seamless to the Soldier. This project is of strategic value within the Army Program and includes working closely with Army’s technology leaders and technology developers.

Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Conduct research and stay current with industry developments and emerging wireless technologies

  • Define communications system architectures and develop technical specifications.

  • Support system integration and testing, provide hands-on troubleshooting, and propose solutions to improve system performance and resiliency in contested and congested environments.

    Basic Qualifications:

  • Must be a student enrolled full-time pursuing an accredited degree seeking program in Electrical Engineering or a related degree program and continue to be enrolled full-time the semester following the internship.

  • Sustained excellence in academic performance.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Understanding of communications theory, radio link budgets, communication protocols, networking or digital engineering.
