Overview

SOFTWARD DEVELOPER, JOURNEYMAN (PDSS):

Bowhead seeks a Software Developer, Journeyman to support our Post Deployment Software Support (PDSS) contract at Aberdeen Proving Ground in Aberdeen, MD. The Software Developer will conduct programming activities related to the development, maintenance and/or installation of computer programs.

Responsibilities

• Work with internal, client and commercial customers in developing application systems.

• Conducting analysis of current and new application systems developed.

• Design, develop, program and test computer software that is complex in nature and requires extensive research.

• May be called upon to provide work leadership and mentorship to lower level employees.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor degree in Computer Science, Electronics Engineering or other Engineering or Technical discipline and three years of work experience in software development as an Journeyman Software Developer. Two additional years of applicable experience may be substituted for the degree.

  • Must be proficient in PowerShell, .Net, C#, windows services, System Center Configuration Manager/Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager, Nexus.

  • Must be able to design, develop, and maintain software for a variety of engineering applications.

  • Must be able to work with analysts to understand their analytic or interface requirements.

  • Must be able to develop tools and interfaces. Design, develop, and test operating systems‐level software, compilers, and network distribution software applications.

  • Must be able to set operational specifications and formulate and analyze software requirements.

  • Must be able to design embedded systems software.

Physical Demands:

• Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds

• Must be able to stand and walk for prolonged amounts of time

• Must be able to twist, bend, and squat periodically

SECURITY CLEARANCE REQUIRED: Must currently hold a security clearance at the Secret level. US Citizenship is a requirement for Secret clearance at this location.
