Overview

Bowhead seeks a SeniorSystems Engineer to support the Project Director Sensors-Aerial Intelligence (PD SAI) Systems Engineering and Technical Assistance (SETA) program at Aberdeen Proving Ground, MD.

Responsibilities

• Provide SME technical and engineering support necessary to meet platform requirements to include system design, upgrade, modification, testing, and deployment and systems sustainment

• Support sensor test campaigns in the design, execution & analysis of data collection from sensor systems during laboratory, ground and flight tests and assess performance against requirements for verification and identification of performance envelopes.

• Provide technical assistance and engineering support necessary to fulfill pre-development activities including architecture, tradeoff and upgrade studies, requirement analysis, and rough order of magnitude cost evaluations.

• Provide technical and engineering support and planning activities that are necessary to migrate systems through successive architecture revisions, upgrades and testing

• Provide technical and engineering support necessary to ensure timely activation of system upgrades and installation of new systems, including system design, procurement of components, creation of documentation, system build (rack and stack), and system integration and test.

• Coordinate, attend, and participate in various classified and unclassified Integrated Product Team (IPT) Meetings, provide engineering input to vendors and team members

• and attend meetings with relevant government agencies.

• Develop, support, and present senior executive briefings, conveying complex technical ideas, on technical program activities and status, from PD SAI senior leadership through the Army Acquisition Executive (AAE).

• Support the fielding and operations of the ISR platforms to include coordination with peer USG offices regarding software, network, and mission integration, on-site and remote software installation and configuration.

Qualifications

• Master of Science in Systems Engineering, requiring 10+ years of experience with System Engineering processes applicable to military air and ground based programs

-OR-

Bachelor’s of Science in Systems Engineering, requiring 15+ years of experience with System Engineering processes applicable to military air and ground based programs

• Active DoD Top Secret SCI Clearance with CI Poly

• Active SIPRNet required

• Active JWICS required

• Direct applicable knowledge and experience in DoD AISR systems (Army Experience preferred)

• Direct applicable knowledge of DoD intel CONOPs, PED processes, and collection tools (Army Experience preferred)

• Knowledge of the latest state-of-the-art in ISR collection systems, as well as what is currently being used commercially in order to make sound recommendations

• Direct working experience with SIGINT (COMINT & ELINT) and GeoINT collection techniques and data flows through the PED architecture

• Direct experience with the development of DoDAF artifacts

SECURITY CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS: Requires an active DoD Top Secret SCI Clearance with CI Poly. US Citizenship is a requirement for TS/SCI clearance at this location.

Physical Demands:

• Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds

• Must be able to stand and walk for prolonged amounts of time

• Must be able to twist, bend and squat periodically
