Job Summary:

SAVA is looking to fill critical Information Technology based positions for our customer with the United States Army at Aberdeen Proving Grounds (APG). The ideal candidate will possess the following qualities: outstanding customer service, expertise/knowledge in the required field, dedication to the mission and strong work ethic.

SAVA is in search of a dedicated IT professional to join our family as a Systems Administrator II (ATEC) on our ATEC IT Team.

Responsibilities

Job Responsibilities:

  • Administrates the configuration of all ATEC software systems that support all of ATEC’s Enterprise applications and Management Information Systems (MIS).

  • Maintains, troubleshoots, configures, patches and upgrades Windows and Unix operating systems, including virtual machines (VM) instances and their and their VM environment administration.

  • Performs operating system event and performance monitoring, resolve issues associated with system configuration management, resource sharing computer network connectivity and throughput.

  • Resolves operating system security issues, identity management issues and conform to records retention and destruction policies as set by the Government policy.

  • Maintains and configures disk configurations, hardware and software RAID 1-N configurations, perform migration, backup and recovery using industry standard scripting languages such as bash, PowerShell, python, ruby, or pearl.

  • Performance tuning, capacity planning and bottleneck resolution, administration of Microsoft and Unix servers, building and maintaining high-availability, clustered and scalable systems, advanced web technologies ASP.NET pipeline, load balancing, etc.

  • Performs imaging of servers and workstations to initial configuration; capturing data prior to performing upgrades; making changes; installing patches and fixes; and migrating data.

  • Schedules and executes installation of upgrades, patches and firmware.

  • Diagnoses and corrects server and workstation performance degradation.

  • Manages requests by users to connect and/or install systems, peripherals, and software IAW local policy.

  • Performs user account maintenance for new users, existing users, and terminated users.

  • Manages the storage of data on storage devices and monitor usage of devices through the use of various Government-approved software utilities.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Active Secret Clearance. Must be able to obtain and maintain an active Top Secret security clearance.

  • Must possess current Security+ (or equivalent DOD Directive 8570.01 IAT II) and at least one current Computing Environment certification (e.g., MCSE, MCSA, or MCSD).

  • Relevant education/experience requirements:

  • 1 plus years with Masters

  • 3 plus years with Bachelors

  • 5 plus years with Associates

  • 7 plus year with no degree

  • Experience in Windows and Unix systems administration including troubleshooting, monitoring, and support.

  • Experience with Windows event and performance monitoring; and working experience of hosted systems software platforms.

  • Experience in resolving basic and intermediate issues associated with system configuration management, resource sharing and basic networking troubleshooting and problem identification.

  • Experience in resolving security issues, identity management, records retention, and adhering to destruction policies.

  • Experience using and writing operating system commands and scripts, scripting languages including one or more of BASH, PowerShell, Python, Ruby and/or Perl.

  • Experience with building and maintain high availability, clustered and scalable systems.

  • Experience managing production environments using automated install, automated build and deployment, automated configuration management, enterprise monitoring systems, server virtualization, load balancing, web servers, and application servers.

  • Ability to adhere to government policies and requirements.

  • Active DoD-issued Top-Secret clearance, or higher, strongly preferred.

  • Bachelor’s degree is preferred.
