Avera is currently seeking Nurse Practitioner (NP) looking to deliver the best possible nursing care in Avera’s patient-focused settings.

Job Summary

  • Demonstrates and serves as an expert in the role of practitioner, consultant, educator and health professional.

  • Improves clinical and cost outcomes for key patient populations through collaboration with physicians and staff and by participating in strategic initiatives.

  • Assures competent and ethical care of patients and families.

  • Shares with the supervising physician and clinic staff the responsibilities of providing and maintaining a quality of customer focused, nursing and medically appropriate approach to patient assessment, care plan development and implementation, follow up to outcomes and cost-effective delivery of services.

  • Community involvement and collaboration is encouraged.

Education and/or Experience

  • Graduate from an accredited nurse practitioner or physician assistant program.

  • Experience (clinical or actual) in Cardiology preferred or will train.

Licensure/Certification/Registration

  • Current SD license to match degree. Current SD Nursing license if applicable.

  • ACLS, CPR are required.

Work Schedule

  • Monday – Friday; 80 hours every 2 weeks

  • Four 10-hour shifts each week

  • Every other weekend

  • Every otherholiday
