Avera is currently seeking Nurse Practitioner (NP) looking to deliver the best possible nursing care in Avera’s patient-focused settings.

Job Summary
Provides a full range of psychiatry, behavioral health services and consultation services to patients at the clinic and hospital.
Demonstrates knowledge of the principles of growth and development and possesses the ability to respond to specific issues and data reflective of the patient/customer's status.
Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care for the population served in the department.
Education and/or Experience
Master’s Degree is required.
Graduate of an accredited Professional Mental Health Nurse Practitioner program.
Experience (clinical or actual) in Psychiatry.
6 months – 1 year of experience is required.
3-5 years related experience and/or training is preferred.
Preferred candidates will have clinical experience in the acute and/or ambulatory psychiatric setting.
Preferred candidates will also have experience working with clients having co-occurring addictive disorders in conjunction with mental health conditions.
Licensure/Certification/Registration
- Current SD Nurse Practitioner License
Work Schedule
Monday – Friday; 80 hours every 2 weeks
8:00am - 5:00 pm
Every 3 rd weekend
Every 3 rd holiday
Occasional call time
