Summary
The Accomac, VA Team is actively recruiting for a First Processing Maintenance Supervisor. The Maintenance Supervisor is responsible of supervising staff, plans and implements all maintenance activities in the plant in order to maximize production while adhering to standard safe practices and procedures. Maintains systems and equipment by completing preventive maintenance schedules, restoring, repairing, rebuilding or replacing faulty or inoperative components and parts. Relocation package available for all qualifying candidates.
Principal and Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Ensures all plant and equipment are in top operating conditions and are available for production as needed.
Organizes and plans regular maintenance work on all equipment and systems within the plant.
Reviews preventative procedures, evaluates and maximizes maintenance procedures collaborating with other Operation departments identifying problems and requirements.
Supervises the activities of maintenance associates so that they are in compliance with the Company's regulations concerning safety procedures thus minimizing personal injury risks, environmental and Company asset damage.
Maintains safe and healthy work environment by following standards and procedures and complying with legal codes and regulations.
Selects, orients, trains, assigns, schedules, coaches, counsels and disciplines staff.
Evaluates functionality and reliability of facility systems and associates equipment.
Improves function and reliability of facility systems and associated equipment by studying performance results; identifying, recommending and implementing changes, expansions and additions.
Minimum Education
BS degree in Engineering or related discipline or technical education equivalent preferred.
Experience Requirements
0-3 years related experience.
Prior supervisory experience.
Should have troubleshooting ability, technical knowledge of production equipment, mechanical and electrical equipment.
Should possess excellent communication, problem solving and organizational skills along with the ability to coordinate several projects simultaneously.
Environmental Factors and Physical Requirements
- May need to move light equipment or supplies from one place to another. 2. May need to access files, supplies and equipment. 3. When in a plant environment: Exposure primarily consists of wet and moist floors which include metal and plastic grating surfaces. May be exposed to temperatures of 28 degrees to 100 degrees Fahrenheit with both ambient and 100% humidity. May handle product 25 degrees to 50 degrees Fahrenheit. May be exposed to noise ranges of 50 db to 110 db. May be exposed to all chemicals used in poultry, food, processing facility. Must wear and use protective and safety equipment required for the job as directed by the Company.
