Just look up. Are you ready to go beyond?What You Will DoPratt & Whitney seeks a motivated, detail-oriented engineer to join the design team. Working on inter-disciplinary teams, the selected candidate will perform mechanical designs of gas turbine engine parts for fuel, hydraulic, lubrication and air management Systems. This position requires creative design skills in engine hardware arrangement and packaging to achieve maintainable, low-cost systems while meeting structural and functional requirements. Based on business needs, the incumbent may be required to support other duties/functions within the company. Must be a U.S. Citizen. This position may require access to systems/tools that are restricted to individuals who possess US citizenship.Interpret, define and reviews tolerances and features on part drawings. Performs and reviews tolerance analysis.Develop technically sound design solutions within program schedule milestones and requirements.Able to use Computer Aided Design and Engineering tools.May provide input or guidance to lower level professionals with tasks and assignments.Participate as a design lead in cross-discipline integrated product teams to provide design solutions that balance performance, cost, schedule, and quality requirementsCommunicate with department leadership and management on status and risks to program schedule and metrics (cost, weight, performance, etc.).Support the PW Integrated Product Deployment process by providing guidance to suppliers and customers request for information, preparing technical documentation to substantiate engineering changes, quality non-conformance, repair requirements or a hardware design phases progression.Utilize standard work and CORE tools to Lead continuous improvement efforts on processes/methods during the part life cycle.Collaborate on in-depth manufacturing processes, specifications, and design requirements of multiple gas turbine hardware discussions.Support rapid closure of high impact tasks related to Production and Customer issues.Develop and sustain a healthy work relationship based on mutual trust with peers, internal and external customers where significant interaction is expectedEnglish (read, write, speak) is required when communicating with customers, co-workers, or supervisors who only speak EnglishMust be a U.S. Citizen. This position may require access to systems/tools that are restricted to individuals who possess US citizenshipQualifications You Must HaveBachelor's Degree Mechanical Engineering or Aerospace Engineering and 8 years of engineering experience or an Advanced Degree in Engineering and 5 years of engineering experienceThe ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required.U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.Travel is up to 10%.Qualifications We PreferExperience with NX and ANSYS.Experience in Teamcenter or other PLM systems.Prior aerospace job experience.Experience with ASME Y14.5 specification.Understand technical processes and design requirements of multiple gas turbine hardware (internal, external, static, or rotating hardware).Prior gas turbine experience and strong aptitude working in a virtual 3D environment.Familiarized with AS9100 or other Quality Management System standards.What We Offer:Employee Scholar ProgramLearn More & Apply Now!Compression Systems Engineering is responsible for the design, development, and in service support of all fans low-pressure and high-pressure compressors for commercial and military engine models. CSE is responsible for the identification and maturation of new technologies for these products.Technical disciplines in CSE include Project Engineering, Mechanical Design, Structural Analysis, and Product Definition.Aftermarket and Sustainment Engineering executes both military and commercial repair design and repairs substantiations for engines. We create and improve ASE business and repair development tools.
