Structural Designer (Canada Remote)

Job Summary of Roles and Responsibilities

POWER Engineers is currently seeking a Full time Structural Designer to work in the Power Delivery PECan transmission line group with our Toronto, Canada office. The successful candidate will report to the Department Manager. This is a remote opportunity, please specify your preferred working location.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and assist with lattice steel structure drafting, design, and detailing.

  • Learn, understand, and implement CAD knowledge; learning client standards, practices, and procedures to ensure that work produced conforms to the client's standards and expectations; being responsible for knowing and following POWER's standards, procedures, and processes; collaborating on design issues.

  • Promote company culture and manage internal and external relationships.

  • Facilitate development of staff with intentional assignments to prepare the next generation of leaders.

  • Collaboratively work with the TDS and structural teams.

Required Education/Experience

  • Associates degree in drafting or equivalent technical degree.

  • Minimum of 10 years’ professional experience in the industry.

  • Minimum 8+ years’ experience in steel detailing.

  • Significant experience in drafting with AutoCAD.

Desired Education/Experience

  • Experience of drafting with Bocad or Tekla in an engineering work environment.

  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite (i.e., Word and Excel).

  • Experience with Bentley ProjectWise.

  • Experience working with scaled drawings.
