Job Description:
Akashi Material Planning Div. is responsible for following up the delivery of material from suppliers, SIB strategy and import custom clearance to ensure smooth daily production at the EXD Akashi Plant.
To ensure reliable parts and components purchasing, we not only build good relationships with suppliers in Japan and overseas, but also participate in activities to improve supplier performance (Velocity, Quality, Capacity etc.) in cooperation with related Caterpillar teams.
In addition, considering CJL business transformation (Mach1 deployment), this position requires to lead developing new ways of jobs without being bound the existing ways.
This position will be responsible for:
Lead collaboration with suppliers and multiple facility functions to address and resolve supplier issues by using route cause and corrective action (RCCA)
Lead effort at suppliers to perform Supplier Value Stream Mapping, material flow improvements and preparation to respond to appropriate replenishment methods.
Accountable for building supplier partnerships in the deployment of lean, high quality, high velocity supply chain practices
Responsible for managing the logistics expense for the division. Provide leadership and direction the development, implementation, and management of logistics improvement initiatives including developing specification of packaging design to reduce freight and logistics costs and protect component materials.
Responsible for the development, communication, implementation, and collaboration with EXSM, OTD and PSLD teams with considering on world-wide sourcing strategy.
To respond to big demand change fluctuations, lead efforts to shorten procurement lead times at optimal costs through collaboration with EXSM, OTD and PSLD and consider and lead inventory strategy based on cost minimums.
Responsible for Material Inventory strategy.
