CHILDRENS HOSPITAL MEDICAL CENTER OF AKRON Medical Equipment Technician in Akron, Ohio

Full-Time Summary: Medical Equipment Technicians are responsible for ensuring safe delivery and sustainable refills of home medical products and equipment for our customers. Responsibilities: 1. Develop and maintain working knowledge of current DME/HME products and services offered by the Home Health department and all applicable governmental regulations. 2. Enter new orders, obtain authorization for products and supplies. 3. Manage/Process new and existing orders. 4. Comply with all applicable company policies and procedures. 5. Manage territory to reach service goals and deliver equipment. 6. Complete written patient visit reports following setup and follow-up visits as required 7. Develop basic reimbursement knowledge and completely document all information necessary to ensure reimbursement for all appropriate equipment, products and services. 8. Assist with implementation of quality improvement program to meet company policies. 9. Maintain home equipment/supply systems through regularly scheduled visits to customers. 10. Report equipment hazards and/or product incidents as required in accordance with company policies and procedures. 11. Participate in educational programs as required. 12. Perform other related duties as assigned. Other information: Technical Expertise: 1. Proficient written and verbal communication skills required. 2. Experience working collaboratively with all levels of the organization is required. 3. Healthcare experience is preferred. 4. Proficiency in MS Office [Outlook, Excel, Word, Power Point or similar software is preferred. Education and Experience: 1. Education: High School Diploma or equivalent required. 2. Technological EMR experience preferred. 3. Years of relevant experience: 1-2 years of Durable Medical Equipment and field inventory experience required.1-2 years of Durable Medical Equipment home delivery required. 4. 1-2 years of Durable Medical Equipment home delivery required. 5. Certification: CPIM Certification is preferred. 6. Drivers license is required.
