JOB TITLE: Executive Director

MUSTS: Relevant experience writing, implementing, and tracking grants and other resource development skills in a non-profit setting Proven success in nonprofit management, or relevant experience where comparable knowledge, skills, and abilities were gained Demonstrated experience helping to build or work within a team approach to organizational leadership, or relevant experience where comparable knowledge, skills, and abilities were gained Demonstrated skills that promote equity, inclusion, and cultural responsiveness, and an understanding of systems of oppression and their impact on communities Demonstrated commitment to ABC s mission to create diverse and inclusive work and programming spaces that reflect the communities we serve and provide equitable treatment of all Attention to detail, accuracy, consistency, and follow-through in executing tasks for internal as well as external audiences Strong written and verbal communication skills Ability to actively listen to and integrate the perspectives and interests of coworkers and of the diverse range of identities, ages, and socio-economic status of the community members with whom ABC is engaged. A commitment to ABC s Mission, Vision and Goals Alamosa Bicycle Coalition is located in Alamosa Colorado. As staff are expected to work in-person a significant part of every week, candidates must reside in or relocate to the San Luis Valley, Colorado. In-person meetings with community partners at various locations in or near Alamosa. Some evening and weekend hours, as needed. Able to lift up to 30 pounds as needed, when assisting with bike equipment. Able to stand and sit for long periods while helping with programming. Valid drivers license required for some tasks. Occasional travel outside the San Luis Valley for professional development, specialized training, and/or regional conferences in support of ABC s mission.

SKILLS: The Executive Director is a key leader for Alamosa Bicycle Coalition s strategic and organizational advancement. This position includes a range of internal and outward facing tasks designed to solidify ABC s administrative, financial, and programmatic structures, as ABC grows from an emerging, volunteer-driven non-profit into a more fully-staffed and sustainable organization. ABC is currently looking to staff two scopes of work. Depending on experience, interest, and the number of hours of work desired, there is the possibility of someone assuming a mix of tasks that cut across these areas of work. Applicants are encouraged to review the Bicycle Workshop and Program Manager position as well. The persons filling the mix of tasks between these two positions will work closely as a team. The Executive Director position is responsible for facilitating ABC s community partnerships, while carrying forward a clear message of ABC s core mission and values. They will be responsible for ABC s financial health and related organizational and financial operations, in collaboration with ABC s board. They will work closely with ABC s other staff, volunteers, and partners to maintain the infrastructure and capacity needed to sustain ABC s bike workshop, along with ABC s existing and potentially expanding bike-related

Preferred Skills/Abilities: Experience living and working in the San Luis Valley, including specific areas of local community and nonprofit engagement Direct experience and facility with Quickbooks, Canva, or similar accounting and document creation platforms Comfortable in Bi-lingual conversational Spanish/English Bicycle mechanics skills General experience with bicycling and related equipment and infrastructure needs Experience living and working in the San Luis Valley, including specific areas of local community engagement

DUTIES: Organizational Leadership (20%) Serve as a key member of the organizational leadership team, both internally and exte nally Provide leadership in maintaining ABC s strategic framework and priorities, in close collaboration with ABC s board Be a primary contact with public and private organizations and coalitions with shared interests in and aligned with ABC s mission Contribute to, expand, and strengthen collaborative opportunities through attending community meetings and engaging with community leaders Work with ABC s board to design and implement organizational structures including policy and procedure congruent with ABC s mission. Organizational Advancement and Sustainability (30%) Help to create and facilitate a range of promotional resources and events to provide a strong and on-going visible presence for ABC s work in the community Lead the development of financial assets and resources for ABC, through grant-writing and administration, donor relations, and related resource development activities Provide fiscal, programmatic, and administrative oversight, including development of structures and policies needed to move ABC beyond its start-up p Financial Management (20%) Develop and implement annual budgets and development plans Oversee banking and general fiscal management, including grant administration Contract for short-term services as needed for specialized services Lead ABC s system of accounting - directly or in conjunction with part-time bookkeeping assistance - including reports required for grant tracking, payroll, taxes, etc. Work with the Board to research healthcare benefit options for ABC Oversee approval and documentation of purchases and vendor accounts Infrastructure for Program Implementation (30%) Maintain leases for bike workshop and storage spaces Maintain insurance coverages needed for all aspects of ABC operations Collaborate on community outreach to maintain a sufficient inventory of donated bikes
