Administrative Assistant - St. Peters Hospital - FT Days

Position Summary :

The administrative secretary performs a variety of clerical, database and information services duties for the department. The position is an integral part of the team for regulatory reporting. It is the liaison for internal and external quality improvement departments and agencies. The position is responsible for preparation of department correspondence and reports, including patient records

Education Requirements :

  • High School Diploma

  • Graduate of Medical Secretary Program or IT Program desirable.

Experience Requirements :

  • 2-3 years previous hospital or medical office experience.

  • Ability to use various computer applications.

Principal Responsibilities:

Information Services:

  • Maintains timely and accurate data for departmental programs and services.

  • Maintains timely and accurate data for the management of regulatory reporting.

  • Prepares communication via reports, emails, and presentations.

  • Maintains positive working relationship with IT and Patient Safety Departments.

  • Develops reports to monitor quality issues.

  • Reports concerns/inconsistencies to appropriate leadership.

Transcription:

  • Expedites report compilation for all testing areas including transcription, editing, mailing, and copying.

  • Maintains turnaround and error rate within standard.

  • Prepares memos and correspondence.

  • Maintains knowledge of IT technology.

Other:

  • Cross cover departments as needed.

  • Acts as a resource to other staff.

  • Initiates and takes direction for special projects.

Pay range: $17.85-$23.80

Pay is based on experience, skills, and education. Exempt positions under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) will be paid within the base salary equivalent of the stated hourly rates. The pay range may also vary within the stated range based on location
