Duties Description Policy and Planning Section, Bureau of Program Management, Division of Environmental Remediation (DER)• Develop an overall plan and approach to data and IT management for DER. Coordinate with the Division of Management and Budget services (DMBS) for funding of projects and with the Office of Information Technology Services (OITS) for staffing and technical needs.• Facilitate and participate in meetings with DER and OITS that involve system enhancements and stabilization projects.• Review proposals to repair and update DER’s project management database, referred to as the Unified Information System (UIS). Set priorities for these projects and coordinate with OITS staff and contractors to implement UIS improvements.• Assist in managing major IT projects including electronic registration of bulk storage facilities and mobile inspections of bulk storage facilities using Survey 123.• Work on updating software for the Spills Hotline Call Center and integrating data from that system into DER’s operations database.• Work with DER’s Information Resource Coordinator (IRC) to provide support for end-users to meet the day-to-day IT needs of DER staff.• Manage DER’s Enterprise Content Management System (DECDocs) efficiently by understanding its major features and functions along with their relationship to DER program areas and UIS. Support staff with UIS and DECDocs system issues.• Coordinate with the EQuIS Data Management System administrator to improve the functionality of that system for DER and promote its use for other Divisions. Coordinate with IT managers in other Divisions to promote sharing of data.• Coordinate with OITS staff to facilitate remote work and remote events, including public hearings and trainings.• Supervise management and distribution of DER’s Geographic Information System (GIS) data.• Support Statewide Financial System (SFS) users during business process changes or system updates. Troubleshoot issues/incidents to support DER staff and monitor for any subsequent issues to ensure they are resolved in a timely fashion.• Assist with the testing of upcoming system releases and updates, noting any potential impact to business processes.
