Summary

The Bureau of Adult Special Populations (BASP) strives to support people with mental illness, substance use disorder, chronic illnesses and/or intellectual or developmental disabilities to achieve maximum health, independence, and quality of life. Working closely with the Office of Mental Health (OMH), the Aids Institute (AI), the Office of Addiction Services and Supports (OASAS), and the Office for People with Developmental Disabilities (OPWDD), the BASP cultivates excellence in collaboration, program development, special projects, and policy knowledge and implementation.

The BASP is seeking a passionate Medicaid Advisor to support the team in its mission and goals specifically to support the BASP’s vision to fully integrate the Health Home (HH) program with larger systems of care.

This contracted position exists within the BASP, under the Special Population Policy and Programming unit, which is responsible for the oversight of the Health Home Program. HH providers are monitored based on performance, quality, and compliance with Federal and State Standards.

Specific responsibilities include:

Works with the HH Program team to support Health Home operations and program initiatives as follows:

  • Plans, coordinates and participates in meetings with HH providers and stakeholders to create workflows and pathways for HHs to promote increased integration with the larger healthcare delivery system

  • Serves as a liaison to state agency partners such as the Office of Mental Health, the Aids Institute, the Office of Addiction Services and Supports and the Office for People with Developmental Disabilities

  • Collaborates with team lead(s) to research, develop and implement initiatives,

such as creating robust referral and discharge planning workflows with hospitals

  • Works with other stakeholders such as local government units and shelter systems to create and/or improve relationships with these types of entities and HHs to ensure eligible members are being referred to the appropriate level of care coordination

  • Drives integration with Health Related Social Care Networks (HRSN) to promote strong relationships with HHs

  • Analyzes data and other performance metrics to inform the development or modification of program operations

  • Other activities as may be deemed necessary in response to the changing needs of the bureau

QUALIFICATIONS :

  1. Strong interpersonal and communication skills

  2. Ability to prioritize and organize across multiple assignments

  3. Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook)

  4. The ability to think creatively and strategically in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.

  5. The ability to manage complex projects and deliverables.

  6. The ability to work independently, as well as in a team environment.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE :

  1. Bachelor’s degree required.

  2. Eight (8) or more years of experience in health care related field to include research, health care policy, Behavioral Health, Substance Use Disorders, or Intellectual and/or Developmental Disability, and quality monitoring or improvement projects.

Compensation for roles at Staffing Solutions Organization LLC (SSO) varies depending on a wide array of factors including, but not limited to, the specific office location, role, skill set, and level of experience. As required by applicable law, SSO provides a reasonable range of compensation for this role. In addition, SSO provides a range of benefits for this role.
