Position Overview:

Under the supervision of the Director of Residential, the Program Manager manages the operation and supervision within the residential program.

Requirements:

  • Ability to work a varied schedule, which is based on program need.

  • A Bachelor’s degree in human services field with 2 years’ experience working with youth in a residential setting is required. A relevant combination of education and experience may be considered.

  • Therapeutic Crisis Intervention (TCI) experience.

  • Local travel is required; A current Clean and Valid New York State Driver’s License (actively licensed at least one year) is required.

  • Staff in driving positions must be able to meet agency’s minimum requirements of our insurance policy for authorized drivers; including, but not limited to the minimum age of 21 at time of hire.

  • Ability to work flexible hours to accommodate client schedules, which may include evening and/or weekend hours.

  • Proficiency in computer applications: Microsoft Office; Google Business Workspace; and s ecure Internet practices.

  • Experience with AWARDS/ NYS Connections.

  • Must become van certified to drive the agency’s 8-15 passenger capacity vehicles.

  • Must have the ability to become certified to administer medications to children.

  • Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills; Capable of building strong working relationships with regulatory bodies.

  • Self-motivated and engaged, with a strong attention to detail; Excellent writing aptitude.

  • A kind, warm and caring mindset; Ability to nurture and show compassion and understanding for children in crisis.

  • Capacity and openness to work with populations from culturally diverse and economically disadvantaged backgrounds, including but not limited to a broad range of people with various developmental and functional levels.

  • Qualities of positivity, flexibility and adaptability; A professional record of integrity, proven reliability and dependability.

  • Capable of exercising ethical, independent judgment and discretion, handle sensitive data with strict confidentiality.

  • Ability to pass background check, including fingerprinting.

    Duties & Responsibilities include:

  • Develop and maintain a therapeutic, child-centered treatment environment.

  • Responsible for interviewing, hiring, supervising and training of program staff.

  • Participate in the intake process.

  • Schedule staffing assignments according to required ratios for all shifts.

  • Oversees program development.

  • Assist in the implementation of program initiatives, policies and protocols.

  • Work collaboratively with Human Resources and the Business Office to ensure compliance with Agency policies and procedures.

  • Attend and successfully complete the medication course, receive and maintain medication certification.

  • Administer medication as needed, ensuring compliance with medication protocols.

  • Complete Therapeutic Crisis Intervention (TCI) training as well as any other Agency mandated trainings.

  • Actively engage in agency and department committees, and work groups as requested.

  • Assume role of on-call supervisor (OCS) as assigned.

  • Facilitates post crisis response process following serious incidents.

  • Additional position-related duties and responsibilities as assigned.
